I loved it. When he took away my choice like that, made the rest of the world go away, it freed me up to be just as needy and depraved as I wanted to be. No, as needy and depraved as he wanted me to be, because he was the one in charge. I may not have felt entirely comfortable with taking love from Kage on my terms, but when he forced it on me, it was so easy.

“Get up,” he ordered roughly. As I stood, he pulled my shirt over my head, and as soon as it was off, I kicked off my shoes and started undoing my jeans. I shimmied out of them, pulling my socks off with them, and then I was finally naked in front of him. Just how I wanted to be.

When I was standing in front of him without a stitch of clothing on, his eyes roamed over my body like they were just seeing it for the first time. His gaze caught at my throat. A muscle in his jaw clenched, and he reached out and grasped my necklace. I thought he was going to snatch it off of me again, and I tensed instinctively, waiting for the pain. Instead, he dropped it without a word.

I felt moisture gathering in my eyes. It was really the first moment since being reunited in the club that I had been able to slow down and feel. Everything leading up had been a confused mix of anger, frustration, and lust. Then the dust settled, and it was just me and Kage and those feelings I suspected we had both been trying to run away from. Funny how in running away, we’d run right smack into each other. Now there was nowhere else to run.

But if I’d been hoping for tenderness, I was sorely disappointed. I could have wrapped myself up in his arms and happily suffocated there, but he had other ideas.

Kage walked me into his bedroom and pulled a silky black tie from his closet. It was probably expensive as hell, though I wouldn’t have known the difference. He pulled my wrists behind my back and used the tie to cinch them together. It didn’t cut of my circulation, but I doubt I would have been able to work my way out of it.

Kage grabbed my throat from behind, wrapping his large warm hand around it, but he didn’t squeeze. He only pulled me backward against his body. I could feel his strength as I leaned on him, and the jut of his hard cock at the base of my spine made me catch my breath.

I felt his fingers, cold and wet, running down between my ass cheeks. Then he started lubricating me, slowly and methodically preparing me for his cock. I clenched up in anticipation.

“Do you realize I risked my life for you earlier tonight?” he asked.

The question startled me, but I nodded. He tightened his grip on my throat and slid two fingers up inside me, making me gasp and push back on him.

“Don’t just agree with me,” he said, continuing to work his fingers inside me. “I want you to think about what you did. Because your thoughtless actions put us all in jeopardy. Me, Steve, Jason, you… even those assholes at the club. Someone could have died.”

I whimpered and tried to hang my head, realizing he was absolutely right. But God, his fingers felt good. “I’m sorry, Kage,” I said, even as I was clenching and releasing on his fingers, silently begging for more.

“Show me,” he said gruffly. “Show me you’re sorry.”

He grasped my chin and pointed my face toward the huge panorama window at the other end of the room. Then he slowly walked me over to it.

“Let’s see how willing you are to risk your life for me.” His voice was laced with menace, and it sent shivers down my spine.

He removed his fingers from my ass and pushed me toward the window.

There was a balcony on the other side of the window, but it was nearly invisible, made of some kind of clear material. Kage pushed me out onto the balcony, which was terrifying as hell. The effect was one of hovering in space over the city. The air caressed my skin, and my heart climbed up my throat and stuck there, a huge lump that no amount of swallowing could dislodge.

I was standing on an invisible balcony with my hands bound behind my back. Why was this starting to seem like a scene out of a really violent thriller?

“You don’t have to do this,” he said quietly. “You can tell me to stop at any time, and I’ll stop. Got it?”

I nodded frantically, wondering if I should just go ahead and say stop.

“Do you trust me?” he asked.
