I wanted to take him back to before he met me, like Superman in the eighties movie, when he took Lois Lane’s lifeless body in his arms and flew backwards around the Earth to turn back time. He knew that he’d lose her love, which was more precious to him than anything, but it was the only way to give her life back.

It was a dramatic analogy, but it was exactly how I felt. I knew Jamie was better off without me. The more I’d thought about it in camp, the more I’d been convinced of it. The problem was that I was selfish. I’d wanted him. Hell, even that was sugar-coating it in my favor. I’d wanted to take his innocence, and fuck him, and hold his face down in the pillow, and take every ounce of pride he had. I wanted him to worship me. I wanted to use his body until I’d had my fill, only now I wasn’t sure if that point of satisfaction would ever come. I’d underestimated my own capacity for feelings, and in doing that I’d altered his life forever.

There was no way we could keep going on the course I’d set us on. The bar fiasco had been proof of that. Before Jamie met me, he never would have ended up in a private room in the back of a bar with two burly guys trying to take advantage of him. Jesus, it was comical to even imagine it happening to the old Jamie in his old life. But the post-Kage version of Jamie? That guy would self-destruct if I glanced away from him for even a heartbeat. He was like a stray dog I’d taken in and was now my responsibility. Because in my colossal arrogance, I had made him need me.

But I was going to fix it. I wasn’t sure how, but I had to do something. Jamie needed to get back to his old life, and I sure as hell didn’t need to have him tagging along on my way to the top of the UFC ladder. He was my Achilles heel. I’d figured that out after my meltdown in Georgia. My episodes were few and far between now, and I’d already had two since I’d met him. I couldn’t afford that. Didn’t want it, either.

But I did want to play with his body. A lot.

“Stop it.” He swatted my hand away and turned onto his stomach, but that only fueled my desire for him. I tickled the tip of my finger down the crack of his bare ass, teased down into the space between his legs, stimulating his taint with a hint of pressure over and over.

He gave a gallant effort at hanging onto sleep, but eventually the stimulation won out. He brought one knee up to give me better access and started to move with me. I watched with delight as the muscles in his ass cheeks clenched and released in time to my touch. I didn’t have to see it to know that his dick was skimming along the sheet to get friction. A little muffled groan escaped where he had his face mashed into the pillow.

Just when I guessed from his actions that he was fully awake and fully hard, I pinched up the little bit of fuzz I found on his most sensitive place and yanked.

“Owww!” he cried out, giving me a dirty look over his shoulder. “What was that for?”

“Get up. You’re eating breakfast before I go back to camp. And after I leave, I’ve already called and arranged for your meals to be sent up like before.” I watched him pick up his clothes from the previous night, hating that he had to cover the body I craved, wishing he had anything to put on that wouldn’t remind me of the club. “Don’t put those on. I’ll give you my credit card so you can buy yourself some new clothes.”

“Why?” he asked, looking alarmed.

“Because I don’t want to see that outfit again, that’s why. Throw it in the trash.”

“I have other clothes in my room, you know. You don’t have to buy me things.” He wouldn’t make eye contact with me, so I could tell something was wrong.

“Why don’t you want me buying you things, Jamie? It’s my uncle’s money. God knows it ought to go to some good use. I could throw handfuls of it off the roof of the building and not feel guilty.”

“It’s just… I don’t know how to feel about it.” He stood up and paced to the window. “My dad said you were buying me. That you had bought me.”

I ground my teeth together to keep from losing my temper and went over to stand behind him at the window. My body stirred against my will at memories from the night before, of Jamie leaned out over that railing, screaming my name.
