“My alarm went off…” Julian said, yawning as he fell back on the stack of pillows, bringing the phone with him. “To take you to the airport. Guess what? You snuck out and left me sleeping.”

Beckett nodded with a small smile. “I left a note on my pillow. I thought we were using my phone alarm.”

“Yeah. I didn’t trust it. Are you at the airport? Is the flight delayed?” Julian asked, rubbing his eye. His flight home didn’t depart until nine thirty this morning. That had been Beckett’s deception. He didn’t want to freak Julian out after the whole mountaintop confessions catastrophe.

“Yeah, something like that. I wanted you to sleep. You were up all night,” Beckett said, his heart taking in Julian’s bed head and thicker stubble. Every side of Julian was always so damn beautiful.

“Up with you. You have to be exhausted.” Julian’s eyes narrowed, and he brought the phone closer to his face. “Is that a dome?” Beckett hadn’t really considered his surroundings when he’d answered. He looked up at the gorgeous stained-glass dome overhead. “Are you in a church?”

Beckett chuckled as he turned back to the phone, bringing it closer to his face to block anything else out. “No, definitely not a church.” He wasn’t sure he’d ever been inside a real church before.

“Beckett, are you coming?” Brigit called up to him, but Julian didn’t seem to hear her. His hesitant smile grew as Julian’s confusion furrowed his brow.

“What are you doing?” Julian asked.

“I’ll tell you later. I gotta go. I’ll text you when I land.” Beckett nodded at Julian, trying hard to get Julian to just go along with it.

“Okay…” Julian hedged, and after another long skeptical pause, his face morphed from speculation to resolve. The image on his screen shifted as Julian turned the phone down the length of his nude body. “I planned for you to take care of this before you left. The big guy’s gonna be frustrated if it has to stay like this until next weekend.”

Beckett did the one thing he probably shouldn’t have done; he quickly clicked the buttons on the phone to save a screenshot. He’d save the photo in his most private spot and tell Julian what he’d done later, when he had more time.

“Keep it just like that. I’ll be back late next Saturday.”

Julian chuckled and fisted his cock. “Talk to me, babe. I’ll be fast.”

Oh God… The high heels clicking on the steps heading his direction sent panic scampering through his stomach.

“Beckett?” Brigit asked a little louder.

Julian’s phone jerked back to his face, giving a critical lift of one brow. “Is that a chick calling you?”

Beckett only had moments before the realtor could hear his phone conversation. He pointed a stern finger at the phone, attempting to dominate Julian. “You keep that for me. I’ll take care of it when I call you back in about an hour.”

“Yeah right,” Julian hissed then cackled. “You have a lot to explain, mister.”

They stared at one another for several seconds as the heels clicking on the steps grew louder. Just before she reached him, Beckett lifted a hand in a wave. “Bye.”

“Bye, my Marlboro Man.” Julian was the one to end the call with a wink and a press of the finger.

Clearly, Julian wasn’t the jealous or prying kind. Beckett shoved the phone back in his pocket and started down the stairs, meeting the realtor as he went.

“I’m sorry. I had a business call. Let’s go look at the last property. I need to get to the airport sooner than I planned.” Another lie rolled off his lips as he took the steps down two at a time, leaving her to follow. Thanks to Julian, his cock was fucking hard as stone now too. If there was any way to squeak in a quick rub for both he and Julian, he needed to figure it out.

For the first time in a long time, Julian felt like he had his groove back. The club’s Monday night attendance had always been weirdly high.

Many months ago, they had decided to turn Monday night into theme night for both the restaurant and the nightclub. It was the only time the restaurant ever let loose of its strict dress code. Mondays had taken on a cult-like following for the regulars, taking on a life of its own. Tonight was disco night. Donna Summer belted out a fun tune that had Julian shuffling his feet, dancing to the music before he ever reached the employee entrance door.

Julian’s groove had come with the idea of doing a quick stop by his storage unit to find his iconic Travolta-esque polyester white dance suit. Of course, he had coupled the outfit with a black silk dress shirt.

Throughout the day, Thane had reminded him to have that conversation with Thomas. He wished he could remember Pat’s Pub. He’d have that discussion then spend the rest of the night on the dance floor, living his life carefree and easygoing. He planned to drink freely and have the time of his life, all at Reservations’ expense.
