“Nah, I’m good. We’ve already ordered, and I for one am loving this garden burger,” he said.

“Garden burger?” Big Dick asked.

“Yeah, did you know Andrew was a vegan and was even one way back when you’d have him look after me? Remember that?” Harlow asked.

She still hadn’t looked at him.

“I didn’t know that,” Big Dick said.

“Yeah, so, why don’t you go and enjoy your club things while Andrew and I enjoy our food?”

“Andrew, a word,” Big Dick said.

He didn’t get up quite fast enough, but Brick helped him, leading him outside the diner. No one tried to interfere.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Harlow went to get up but Hunter put a hand on her bare shoulder. “Don’t!” She shrugged him off, but he pressed on the back of her chair, stopping her from going anywhere.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Hunter asked.

“Get lost.”

“Do you think you’re going to make me jealous going on a date with prissy boy?”

Harlow tilted her head to the side. “I’m not trying to make you jealous. I’m not trying to do anything other than have a nice Friday night.”

Hunter leaned down and pressed his lips against her ear. “I remember when you loved being with me on a Friday night.”

She tensed up.

“Or have you forgotten that?”

She turned her head and her lips were so close, they were in touching distance. He wanted to kiss those lips so badly, but he held himself back.

“I’ve forgotten nothing but from where I sit, it would seem you have forgotten absolutely everything.” She glared at him. “Those Friday nights are gone. They mean nothing and are nothing. What is Big Dick doing?”

“I have no idea but you shouldn’t be with that asshole.”

“It’s none of your business who I’m with, Hunter. Back the fuck off.”

He wanted to say more but then Andrew came back into the diner. Hunter was hoping he would have a black eye or a bleeding nose, but instead he sat down, looking composed. Big Dick entered the diner and went back to the booth.

Hunter didn’t like this and it wasn’t how he hoped the evening would go. He sat down and looked at Big Dick.

“What did you do?” Hunter asked.

Brick had already gone back to his food. The man could eat through everything.

“I gave him a warning. It’s all I could do.”

“All you could do? She’s your sister and he thinks he can just date your sister?” Hunter didn’t like this. He was already plotting to take out the little fucker.

“Andrew’s a nice guy. He has always been a nice guy. Even though he didn’t have to, he’d babysit and keep an eye on Harlow. He’s a good guy and I’m not going to take that away from my sister. I’ve already cost myself so much by not fucking thinking.”

Hunter didn’t like this. Without another word, he got to his feet and left the diner. He couldn’t watch her with someone else. Flashing through his mind were the memories of her laughing with him, enjoying him, being totally with him. He missed that. Running a hand down his face, he tried to bring back some focus. That was all over. He ended that because he had to, not because he wanted to. Spinning around, he looked back into the diner and he watched her. He only saw the perfection of her back.

Harlow had been his. To protect the club, and his relationship with Big Dick, he ended it before it got too crazy. It hadn’t worked because the Twisted Bastards MC had interfered. Now there was no going back. Only forward.

He needed to let go. To allow Harlow to move on. He had no choice.

Chapter Nineteen

A Few Weeks Later

Andrew was a sweet guy. There was no doubt about it. Harlow loved being around him, and he was so nice. He was always there at the beauty parlor in the morning with coffee, exactly how she liked it. Sometimes he’d bring a sweet treat with him. Other times not. He was also there at night, when the shop closed. He’d brought Erin with him a couple of times.

Her birthday had come and gone, and she had loved the gift he’d gotten her. Much to her surprise, Alan, Erin’s father, had also been grateful. Alan had stopped by the shop and organized a makeover for his little girl, which was a dream come true for her. He also asked Harlow to take care of her when Erin was here.

She had no doubt Hailey would take care of the little girl. They all adored her. Glancing over at Hailey, she saw the other woman was very happy. From what information she’d been able to obtain from her, the man she was seeing was quite the catch. Secretive, which apparently Hailey liked.

Harlow knew how damaging secret lovers could be, and she didn’t exactly have high hopes for her friend. In fact, the complete opposite. She was a little afraid for her. Not a good feeling to have.
