“Hey little one. How was work?” Is he serious?

“Why are men moving stuff out of my house?” He chuckles like I just told him a joke. It pisses me off. “Balder?”

“I told you the other day I was going to move you in with me.”

“Yeah, I thought you meant it in like a few years or something. Not the next day!” I say louder than I have spoken in a while, but this man is infuriating. “What kind of crazy person are you?”

“Not crazy, baby. In love. I told you about the legend of our family. When we find our mates, we move at warped speed. You should call and ask the girls. They will tell you.”

“Well, normal people don’t do stuff like this.” He growls, and immediately, my pussy responded like a well-trained puppy, panting for her master.

“A normal man wouldn’t be able to use you for his own pleasure and still make you come, little one. A normal man wouldn’t come inside of you every chance he got trying to knock you up and bind you to him so you can never leave. A normal man wouldn't be utterly obsessed with you. So much so that when he is not with you, he wants to install cameras in every place you frequent so he can see you at all times. And guess what, baby?” Holy hell. I am freaking shaking, my knees weak, and my body pulsing with every word coming out of his mouth.

“W-what?” My nipples answer him, too, beading against my bra, aching to feel his mouth on them.

“A normal woman wouldn’t be moaning from that declaration. You love every bit of my crazy baby because it is all for you.”

That was it. That was the moment everything hit me, and I knew I needed to run. He was one hundred percent right. I am in love with him, and everything he said fed the lonely, needy little girl in me who never had the love of anyone but my six best friends.

So logically, I packed a bag, turned my phone off, and went to the one place he wouldn’t think of to look for me. “So let me get this straight; he loves you, and you love him, so you run to my house?” Anka asks.

“Precisely,” I tell her, trying to act like it makes sense to me.

“Explain,” she says, drinking her merlot and looking at me like I have lost my mind.

“It’s just…I don’t believe in the happily ever after, at least not for me. I have seen too much, and I know what it looks like at its worst. I have never felt it for real; knowing how good it feels, I know it can never last. Good things like this don’t just happen to me. Everything I have ever had or done that has been good, I have had to work for.” She raises her head as she gets it. Putting her glass down, she sits up and looks at me. Her face is more serious than I have ever seen it.

“Summer, you are a bright, beautiful, intelligent young woman. Yeah, you got dealt a shit hand. Guess what, lots of people do, but they don’t stop themselves from finding the good in life. Hell, most of them, me included, would kill to find what you have found or what has found you. I think it is time for you to stop running and blocking love from your life. Welcome it and embrace it. You deserve it.” Her words hit me square in the gut when I realize my fear could ruin it all.

I reach to turn my phone on, but there is a knock at her door. She gets up and walks to it. Immediately, I hear his voice and stand up. He walks into the living room and stares at me without saying anything. My pussy begins to get slick, and my breathing labored. “Balder,” I say his name as a silent plea and a prayer of thanks. “How did you find me?” He moves closer to me and wraps his hand around the back of my neck.

“From the moment I met you I have had security on you when I am not with you. Do I look like the kind of man who would leave his most precious gift without protection?”

“I’m so sorry,” I say quickly. “I love you. I was just scared.” He kisses my forehead, his grip on my neck still tight and unmoving.

“I know, little one. I know. Are you done running now?” I nod, wrap my arms around his waist, and look up at him.

“I’m done. I don’t want to run from what we have found anymore. I want it. I need it. I need you, Balder.” Lifting me in his arms, I wrap my legs around his waist and kiss him, showing him that I mean it.
