“Over here?” My jaw dropped. “You mean now?”

He nodded as I looked around Sawyer’s family room. “But this place needs cleaning, and I don’t have snacks. And if he wakes up to a houseful of people, Sawyer’s going to flip his shit.”

“Sawyer knows how the guys are. Lars is…he helps by doing things. They feel bad that they haven’t checked in on him more. And they don’t care what the house looks like, Lucy.”

I blew out a breath. “Okay, well…we’ll just roll with it, I guess.”

He put his phone back in his jeans pocket and walked over to me, his gaze intense. “We will not be alone for long, so I am not missing this.”

Putting his hand on the side of my throat, he gently brushed his thumb over my jawline. I inhaled sharply, something about his hand on my throat giving me butterflies. No man had ever done that, and it felt sensual and possessive.

He put his other hand on my hip, sliding it around to my lower back as his lips met mine. We moved at the same time, pressing our bodies together as he deepened the kiss. His fingers cupped the back of my neck and he wrapped his entire arm around my waist, holding me tightly as he devoured my mouth with his.

I brought my arms around his neck, lost in the sensation of our kiss. Kon was outwardly stoic, but he kissed me with more passion than I’d ever felt before. He held me so tightly that I felt his erection pressing against my belly, and it only fueled my desire more.

When I finally had to pull away from him, breathless, he still held me close, running the tip of his nose along the side of mine.

“Sawyer will kill me for this,” he whispered. “But I don’t care.”

I ran my fingers over the short, dark stubble on his cheek as he rested his forehead against mine. “I didn’t know a kiss could be like that.”

He gave me a soft, gentle kiss, relaxing his hold on me. “I have to stop now, or I won’t be able to.”

The butterflies were back. I wanted to know what that felt like—to make this man so crazy with lust that he couldn’t hold back. I wanted it more than anything.

Kon didn’t kiss me again, but he also didn’t let me go. We just stood there holding on to each other. I rested my cheek on his shoulder and took in his clean, masculine scent.

It felt like time had stopped, but then it returned with the ring of the doorbell a few minutes later. Kon groaned and I unhooked my arms from his neck.

“Bastards,” he muttered. “I will beat them with my stick at our next practice.”

“They mean well,” I reminded him. “I’ll go answer it.”

“No, let me. You should not answer the door.”

Because of the attempted break-in the other night. I’d completely forgotten about it when I was wrapped in Kon’s protective embrace.

“Oh, yeah. You’re right.”

Within twenty minutes, the house was filled with tall, boisterous hockey players. Lars had brought his wife Sheridan, who was warm and beautiful. Some of the guys had picked up the printed photos, Sheridan and I framed them, and Kon and Nash hung them.

As she pulled the next photo from the envelope, Sheridan screeched and then burst into laughter.

“What?”

She turned the photo around and I saw Nash’s dick—again. I burst out laughing, too.

“The kid working the photo counter said he wasn’t supposed to develop it, but I slipped him a fifty,” Rory said. “Figured this was something Sawyer needs to see every morning when he wakes up.”

“Really?” Lars said to Nash with a glare.

Nash put his hands up in mock surrender. “Hey, I accidentally sent it. I never meant for this to happen.”

“Accidentally.” Sheridan lifted her fingers in an air quotes motion and gave me a look. “That’s what they all say.”

The photo of Nash’s dick and balls was hung near the center of the wall, between a selfie of me and Kon and another of Rory sitting on the toilet giving a peace sign.

“So tasteful,” I said, cracking up again.

“I can’t believe he hasn’t woken up from all this noise,” Sheridan says.

“Once he’s out, he’s out,” I said.

“Well, he’s in for a surprise tomorrow.”

Everyone finished their drinks and started heading out. Kon was the last one in the house, and he reluctantly looked at his watch and then at me.

“If I didn’t have an early practice…”

“Another night,” I said. “If you want.”

“Oh, I want.” He kissed me gently. “You will see how much I want, Lucy.”

“See you soon?”

“As soon as I can.” He kissed me again. “Arm the security system and text me if you need anything, okay?”

I nodded. “Good night.”

He took a couple steps out the door, then turned and came back, kissing me again.
