“Nothing.”

Draco sat down at the table and glared at him.

This was … strange. Especially as Draco usually preferred silence, or at least, that used to be his MO. The quiet brooding type. Not that Wolfe could fault him for it.

He cut through his waffle and tried not to think about Amelia or how good she felt wrapped around his dick.

There was a lot about Amelia he wanted. He couldn’t get enough of her.

“Nothing?” Draco asked.

“Why are you here?”

“Enzo just took over in babysitting duty,” Draco said. “Amelia was asking about you.”

“She was?”

“Yeah.”

Wolfe waited for him to say anything else, but he was the perfect brooding, silent type. Of course.

His appetite slowly faded as the brother stared at him.

Wolfe wasn’t going to allow perfectly good waffles to go to waste. “Here, eat them.” He shoved his plate toward Draco and got to his feet.

“She wants you,” Draco said as Wolfe headed toward the door.

“A lot of women want me.”

“No. This is different. Amelia is … you know, she’s different.”

“She’s weak, Draco. Let’s not allow her infatuation to cloud your judgment.”

“Infatuation?” Draco laughed.

Wolfe was getting angrier by the second. This wasn’t Draco’s business.

“You can try to hide the smell from others, Wolfe, but I know when you’ve been with her. Your scent is all over her. Inside her.” Draco’s movements were slow as he cut through the waffle. “Does she know that you’re embarrassed by her?”

“I’m not embarrassed.”

“No, then why haven’t you told Alpha or the club that she’s yours?”

“Dude, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you can enjoy a woman without having to take things to the next level.”

Draco got to his feet and turned toward him. “Next level. So why are you the only one who is protecting her at night? Why won’t you allow the brothers to touch her? Why do you growl and your wolf look ready to come forward to kill when one of us goes near her?”

Wolfe didn’t want to answer any of these questions.

“Does she even know that this thing between you is just plain fucking? That you don’t want to keep her because she’s weak?”

“We’re done talking.”

“You’re going to fuck this up,” Draco said.

“Damn it, Draco, I’m not going to fuck anything up, and you want to know why? Because there is nothing to fuck up. Amelia and I, we’re not a couple. We don’t have to be more to enjoy each other. Not everything is about fucking mating!” He’d heard enough and now he just wanted out of this fucked-up conversation. “Last time I checked, I wasn’t some teenage high school boy.”

“No, you’re just a Poison Wolves MC brother who is screwing with a woman in secret. A woman who I happen to think has a big heart and who is very special. You’re going to hurt her, Wolfe, and I don’t think that’s fair.”

Draco got to his feet, and it pissed Wolfe off that he was the one to get the last word in. Anything else he said would be just lame and pointless.

Slamming through the door, he headed out of the clubhouse and went toward his bike. He needed a damn good ride to clear his head.

This thing with Amelia was getting complicated, and that wasn’t what he intended. Far from it, in fact. What he’d hoped was for them to enjoy each other for a few days, and he’d grow bored, she would have some fun, and they’d part ways.

A couple of days.

He’d been enjoying her for nearly a week now. Perhaps even longer, and this … desire wasn’t going away. It wasn’t fading, and that was starting to piss him off.

Amelia deserved more. She deserved better. She’s weak.

There was no way he could be with her. As a Poison Wolves MC, he had a reputation to protect. Amelia wasn’t a good fit for him.

He gripped the handles of his bike even tighter.

His wolf wasn’t happy. Whenever it came to Amelia, they didn’t exactly meet eye to eye. His wolf wanted to mate with her. He just wanted to have some fun, seeing as there was no harm in that. No harm at all. Not everything had to be kisses and rainbows.

He broke the town line, going onto the main road, following it for several miles, and pressing down on the gas as he allowed his freedom to finally take control.

This was what he needed to think. To clear his mind and to know what he wanted.

The road was a dangerous one, but he didn’t care.

There was a reason Alpha located here. It was hard to find, difficult to get to, and impossible for many people to survive.

There was always the risk of having to deal with other packs or shifters, but Alpha’s main concern was always humans. The last few days had been tense for their prez. What Wolfe didn’t like was the possibility the guy who’d been stalking Amelia wasn’t human. Wolfe had combed through every single surrounding area of the forest near Amelia’s house, and he couldn’t pick up any kind of scent. Not human. Not bear. Not any shifter he’d encountered.
