This boy would drive him crazy. At least his nicotine cravings were now mostly non-existent, and he hoped they’d remain so if he didn’t give in to temptation that one time. Whether he managed to woo Arden or not, he’d end up gaining something anyway. Like, improving his athletic performance through better lung capacity.

He had no idea where this road would lead him, be he sure hoped there would be at least one stop in Arden’s bed.

He entered the restaurant and nodded at the server, heading along a row of small booths separated with black lacquered dividers. The interior was simple, with one textured wall and lots of green plants for decoration instead of stereotypically Japanese imagery, but despite the use of square, somber shapes, each table felt cozy. Particularly the one in the corner, where Arden sat, unaware that he was already being ogled.

“Oh hey!” Arden beamed when Mike came into his field of vision, the pink stud in his nose catching the light. “How was your day at work?” he sniggered. He didn’t seem to mind that Mike was involved in illegal shit, and that only ticked another box in Arden’s favor.

“Good,” Mike said, tossing the backpack on the bench as he pushed his ass next to Arden’s instead of sitting down across from him like a good boy.

He was nice, but not good.

“What about you? Are you on Grindr, looking for real gay men?” It was a joke, but now that it left his mouth, Mike realized he wanted to know.

“Nah, just browsing online stores. I can’t use social media ‘cause Luke is probably spying on them, like the creeper he is.”

Mike exhaled and pulled the metal straw out of Arden’s hand to suck out some of the milkshake. Hm, vanilla and sesame. “We’ll deal with him in due time.”

Arden fluttered those gorgeous lashes at him. “One more word, and I’ll believe that you’re trying to get into my panties for real!” When he playfully shoved at Mike’s arm, a lilac bra strap slipped down Arden’s shoulder, and Mike stared at it, struck by the desire to lick the uncovered shoulder and pull on the underwear with his teeth.

They’d gone shopping earlier, and while Mike had roped Arden into going to this alternative unisex lingerie store he’d found on the Internet, the boy refused to let him into the dressing room or show him what he’d ended up picking—even though Mike had paid for it. That loose strap took him back to a place full of sexy outfits and pretty underwear. Mike wanted to see Arden in each and every set.

“Is my interest still a surprise?” he asked and pulled on the strap, breathing faster when he sensed the heat of Arden’s skin. “Is that a bra?”

Arden didn’t push him away, smirking. “A bralette.”

Mike repeated after him, with no clue what that was.

“Hm… Maybe I’ll show you at the hotel.”

Mike exhaled, choking on the hot air, and he gently placed his hand on Arden’s thigh. “Such a little tease.”

“Or maybe I won’t.” The boy laughed but didn’t move away, instead placing his hand on top of Mike’s and stroking it with his thumb.

This was unbearable.

Torture.

Arden smelled so good too, of fresh flowers, and milky vanilla, and desire.

It didn’t matter where they were as long as Arden touched him.

“I’m getting hard,” Mike whispered.

“Then we better get going.” Arden got up, taking away the lovely heat of his body, but glanced over his shoulder and winked at Mike. “Hope the hotel’s nice.”

Which only reminded Mike they’d be sleeping in one bed, because he had no shame and booked that kind of room.

“You’ll be the death of me, baby,” He said and followed, willing his arousal down. But then he remembered he’d left behind the backpack with thousands of dollars and picked it up. He needed to stay focused, because he’d definitely not get to see Arden naked if they crashed.

Getting to their destination took almost an hour, because Mike wasn’t in the habit of booking overly expensive hotels in the city center when he could get something just as nice on the outskirts. He did upgrade to a much classier place than usual though, because he doubted Arden would have appreciated the cheap motels Mike chose for his own use.

Arden deserved to be treated like the jewel he was.

The hotel didn’t look like anything special—an imitation of the fancy houses in the city center, built sometime in the past fifty years, but it was clean, had a restaurant, and pleasant staff at the reception, so Mike was confident in his choice by the time he and Arden left the elevator in the third floor and walked down the carpeted hallway.

Neither of them spoke, and the dense atmosphere conducted the electricity jolting between their bodies with even more ease, but Mike was still nervous in a way he hadn’t been in a long time.
