I reached over and took her hand in mine, leading her to the front door. When we walked in, we were both hit with the usual scent of smoke and alcohol, and the music was blaring. The lights flickered to the rhythm of the pulsating beat, and the girls on the different stages were giving it all they had.

Jenna's eyes widened as we made our way further inside. I led her towards a table near the back and ordered us a couple of drinks. Jenna sat down, and her eyes immediately started darting around as she took in everything around us. It was a sight for a newcomer. Not only were there various dancers on stage, but scantily clad waitresses moved through the floor, taking drink orders. Jenna looked tense as she leaned over to me and whispered, “They’re all so beautiful.”

“They don’t got nothing on you, babe.”

“Oh, come on,” she huffed. “These girls clearly work out every day. They don’t have an inch of fat anywhere, and their boobs are perky and bouncy and perfect. Just looking at them makes me insecure.”

“You have no reason to feel insecure.” I leaned back and let my eyes slowly skirt over her. “Not when you’re sitting here looking like that.”

“You’re sweet but full of shit.”

“They’re good girls, Jen. You’ll see once you meet ‘em.”

“I’m meeting them?”

“It’s why we’re here.”

I spotted Star over at the bar and motioned her over. She was wearing her usual getup—tiny skirt and even tinier halter, and she was all smiles as she sauntered over to the table. “Hey, Grim. How’s it hanging?”

“Can’t complain. How’d the meet go this afternoon with the girls?”

“Pretty good. There still needs to be more training, but we’ll get it done.”

“Need anything from me?”

“No, I think we’ve got it.”

“Good deal. While I’ve got ya, I’d like you to meet Jenna. I thought you and the girls could show her a good time.”

“Yeah, we could definitely do that.” She smiled. “She’s with you?”

“You could say that.”

“Seriously?” Star’s smile grew even wider. “You’ve never brought a lady friend in here before.”

“First time for everything.”

“This is so awesome.” Star looked like she was about to bust as she motioned over to Nikki and the others to come over to join us. She sat down next to Jenna and said, “You’ve gotta give us all the tea.”

“About?”

“Grim, of course.” Star turned her attention to me as she said, “Could you grab us some drinks?”

“Yeah, I can do that.”

As soon as I stood, Nikki and several of the others came over and sat down. They immediately started in with their girl talk, and I knew then that Jenna was about to have one hell of a night.

I was just about to grab my drink when Lawson came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. The warmth of his breath sent goosebumps down my spine when he whispered, “You know if you have many more of those, I’ll be carrying you out of here over my shoulder.”

I leaned into him, resting myself against his chest with the back of my head on his shoulder, and teased, “Is that a bad thing?”

“Not at all.” The bristles of his beard tickled against my neck when he said, “Looking forward to it.”

“Well, that’s good because I stopped counting after the third shot,” I laughed.

“She’s a total lightweight,” Nikki chuckled, barely able to keep her eyes open. “She’s only had three. I’m on number six.”

“I wouldn’t brag,” Star scolded. “Danny is going to have your ass when he picks you up tonight.”

“A girl can hope,” Nikki giggled.

Star looked up at Lawson with a big smile and slurred, “Just so you know, I approve.”

“Of?” he asked.

“Your girl. She’s the best,” Star giggled with a slur. “She doesn’t hold anything back.”

“Is that right?”

“Um-hmm.” Star gave him a goofy smirk. “She told us all about how hot you look without a shirt on. I think you should show us.”

“I think not.”

“Why not?” Nikki pouted. “You see ours all the time.”

“She’s right,” I interjected. “It’s only fair.”

“I think it’s time for us to call it a night.”

“Such a Debbie Downer.” Jenna stood with a sway and said, “Thanks for an awesome night, y’all. I had a great time.”

“We did, too,” Nikki replied with a giggle. “You’ve gotta come back and hang with us.”

“You’ve gotta come back and do amateur hour!” Star gasped. “You would be incredible.”

“Not a chance,” Jenna scoffed as she motioned her hand over her hips. “Besides, nobody wants to see all this.”

“You’re crazy. The guys would flip over you.” Star turned to Lawson as she pushed, “Wouldn’t they?”

“We’ll never know.” He gave Star a look, signaling her to let it go, then added, “You ladies enjoy the rest of your night.”

“You, too!”

Lawson took my hand in his and led me outside. When we got to the parking lot, I was surprised to see that his bike was gone and had been replaced with his truck. “Whoa. Where’s your Harley?”
