It’s deliciously torturous, and it’s driving me mad with lust.

“Are you going to fuck me soon?” I ask in a ragged voice that doesn’t resemble my own.

“You’re eager.” He smiles. “I can tell by this.”

This being how utterly wet I am. He dips a finger in my channel, only to slide it out again to hone back in on the small bundle of nerves that is pushing me closer to my release.

“Then do me,” I groan. “Please.”

His gaze roams my face, stopping so we can lock eyes. “God, you are so fucking gorgeous. I don’t think you fully comprehend how utterly beautiful you are.”

My words get caught behind a moan as he ups the pressure on my clit. I struggle to catch my breath, wanting to thank him for the compliment. “Declan.”

“You’ll come for me like this,” he says in a low whisper. “Then I’ll fuck you against the door with your legs wrapped around me.”

The imagined vision of that — how primal that will look — is enough to chase me into my release.

I let out a sound that is a combination of a whimper and a sigh.

“That’s it,” he says as his lips find mine. “Come for me, Abigail. Come just for me.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

Declan

I walk into my bedroom to find Abby sitting on the edge of my bed. She’s wearing one of my blue button-down shirts. Only a single button between her breasts keeps it in place.

She looks like a dream — every fucking dream I’ve ever had.

“Hey!” Her smile lights up the entire room. “There you are.”

I tug on the waistband of the boxer briefs I’m wearing. I fucked her twice since she arrived, but my cock is already stirring again.

“There you are,” I bounce her words back at her. “You don’t look like you’re about to race out of here.”

She gestures toward the open bottle of water in my hand. “Can I have some, please?”

I smile at how polite she is. “How can I say no to you?”

I shove the bottle at her, and within a few seconds it’s emptied down her throat.

“Should I get another one?” I ask with a chuckle.

“I’m good.” She hands the empty bottle to me. “You make me thirsty.”

“You make me thirsty too.”

“I know.” She pats a spot next to her on the bed. “Sit and tell me about tonight.”

I do as I’m told, but not before I toss the empty bottle toward a wastebasket in the corner. It dives right in.

“You’re going to recycle that, aren’t you?”

I settle on the bed, turning to look at her. “I am.”

“Good.” Her gaze sails over my face. “I like the late-night shadow look.”

Scrubbing a hand over the stubble on my jaw, I smile. “Should I keep it?”

“You shave every morning, don’t you?”

I agree with a nod. “Almost every morning.”

“You rarely leave home in anything but a tailored suit.”

I can’t argue with that, so I don’t. “It’s rare for me to leave home with the intention of not stopping at the office at some point, so you’re right.”

“Tell me about tonight,” she repeats for a second time.

“I fucked the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.”

That lures a soft smile to her full lips. “I meant before that.”

“I thought about fucking the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.”

That brings up a bubble of laughter from inside of her. “Declan.”

“Abigail.” I cup a hand over her cheek before I kiss her softly. “Tonight was amazing. You’re amazing.”

Her top teeth scrape her bottom lip. “So are you.”

It’s one of the greatest compliments I’ve ever received.

“What was the commitment ceremony like?” She asks with both eyebrows perked. “Did Callie look beautiful?”

I nod. “Like an angel. She was dressed in white. Sean had on a suit. Almost everyone they love was there.”

Her eyes drop to her lap. “It sounds perfect.”

I’m tempted to ask about her wedding day, but I don’t want to travel that path. That’s her history.

“They’re planning on having a legally binding wedding ceremony when Hailey is a few months old,” I explain. “I’d love it if you’d go with me.”

The words are as surprising to me as they are to her. I’ve never invited a woman to any family function before.

Her brows pinch together. “You want me to go to your brother’s wedding with you? In a few months?”

So many complicated questions are woven into those two simple ones, but I ignore them all. “I do.”

She studies my face. “You’re sure? That’s kind of a big deal.”

I scoop her hand into mine and hold it next to my chest. “You’re kind of a big deal to me.”

She closes her eyes briefly before she looks right at me. “If we’re still doing what we’re doing, I’d like to go to Sean and Callie’s wedding with you.”

If we’re still fucking each other is what she means but I let it slide because, for all intents and purposes, that’s what this is. For now.
