I lean down to rub behind King's ear. The Pitbull from the estate, not the VP of the Screaming Eagles. He's turned out to be nice, but we don't have that kind of a relationship. He's not super thrilled about there now being two Kings in the club, though.

King only stays for a second before he runs over to settle on the side of the stage with Jupiter, Eagle-eye's boxer. After I brought King here, the two dogs—after a brief butt-sniffing check—hit it off like no man's business, and now they're almost inseparable. They patrol the compound together, though I'm pretty sure it's just an excuse to get petted and scratched and played with by everyone from the most hardened bikers to the old ladies and kids that live in the back.

Today, there aren't any strippers on the stage, the alcohol is free at the bar, and the rock music is turned down low enough that it's possible to hear Eagle-eye, who's up here with us. He told me he's wearing his good cut today, but I'll admit, I haven’t learned to tell the difference yet. Balloons are strung up all over, despite Chef's protests about this being a biker bar, not a fucking kid's birthday party.

Down in the rounded booths that surround the stage are the families, the other groups like mine, women surrounded by their constellations of big, dangerous bikers. Like Eagle-eye keeps saying, there must be something in the water, because our group’s about to become the fifth official one in the club.

Faith is there with her three, waving when she sees me looking her way. Natalie and her guys are in the next booth, Natalie nursing her new arrival, Clark. Emily and Alessa with their three and four guys respectively. They’ve been around longer and I don't know them as well yet, but I'm starting to, and they have five kids between them, so I might have some babysitting in my future. So many kids around here. Bikers are virile, that's for sure.

I have to admit, that makes my belly warm just a little. The idea of being able to do the same for my guys excites me more than it probably should. At least the idea of making them, because I've been thinking about that a lot more lately. I wonder if Crash knows what kind of monster he woke up by taking my virginity.

“What are you laughing at?” Speaking of Crash. He's standing behind me, his arms possessively around my waist.

“Oh, nothing. Just… nothing.”

“I have plans for you later. I could make you tell me.” His growl gives me sexy goosebumps.

“Maybe I'll make you make me,” I whisper.

He pulls me close enough to feel the steel bar of his bulge pressing into the small of my back. “I can't wait,” he whispers back.

Oh.

Preacher jumps up on stage to stand next to us. Crash shifts, but leaves his hand on my hip, claiming a bit of me. And then Devil's there, and he slides his fingers into my hair so he can pull me closer and kiss me. Between them, I'm claimed in three different directions, but in the end, they're all mine.

And soon, it'll be official.

“Everything's set up?” Devil asks over my head.

“All good to go. It's gonna be a night to remember,” replies Preacher, sounding very pleased with himself.

“Why does it sound like you guys are talking about more than just the ceremony?” I look suspiciously up at Devil and then at Preacher. Crash is behind me, but totally stone faced when he doesn't want to give anything away, so it doesn't matter.

“No idea,” says Preacher. Devil laughs.

“I'm just assuming it's going to be good,” I say with a shrug, not wanting to give them the satisfaction. And it doesn't matter, because we're starting.

Eagle-eye clears his throat, and the music's turned down just a little more. Miriam, his old lady, takes up position next to him, hanging on his arm.

“Well, here we fucking are. Again.” Eagle-eye looks out over the crowd, before he turns to look at us. That one eye is seeing right into my soul, and for a moment I worry that I'm not going to be good enough. But then he smiles, and he's a whole different person than the hardass that runs the Screaming Eagles. “I don't know if I'm just starting to get used to this shit or what, but I've been through this four times already, so maybe I am. I don't know what it is about these women who make them so damn magical that they can draw in three or four of my guys at once and hold on to all of them, but there's something going on, that's for fucking sure.” He throws a glance towards Faith, his daughter, then makes an “I'm watching you” gesture with two of his fingers between him and her guys, to big laughs. I bet they're the best behaved bikers in the whole club.
