Things were going to change. He could feel the shift in the air. He was going to have to loosen his reins a bit because his Little girl was destined for something he did not understand. Much like Damon had to let Olivia do her thing when it was necessary for her to communicate with the bears, Felix suspected he was going to have to find a way to let his precious mate do what was needed for the good of the pack also. He wasn’t sure what that was going to look like yet, but it was going to challenge him.

His phone rang while he was cutting up apples, and Felix answered it with a chuckle. “Hey, Elias. Let me guess. You’re on your way over.”

“Yes. We’re just about to leave the house. How did you know?” Elias didn’t hesitate before continuing. “Damn. Khloe knew?”

“Yes.”

“That’s…creepy.”

“A bit. Yes,” he agreed. It was going to be weird until they understood better what her visions entailed.

“Does she know when I used the bathroom and how many times I made her sister orgasm this morning?” His voice was slightly teasing, but Felix knew he was partly serious.

“I don’t believe so. It seems she only knows when people are coming this way. You don’t even have to leave the house. You just have to have the intention of heading here.”

“Bizarre. Well, we’ll be there soon.”

After setting the phone back on the counter, Felix resumed cutting up snacks for the Littles. He glanced over his shoulder to find Khloe right where he’d left her. She was rocking a doll in her arms, but she had not moved, and more importantly, she had not fallen.

“Daddy…” she said as he set the plate on the table. “They’re almost here.”

The Little clairvoyant knew this long before he scented their guests’ arrival. He returned to the playpen and scooped her into his arms before heading for the front door. They might as well wait on the porch. She would be chomping at the bit otherwise.

It wasn’t long before Felix scented Elias and Leah, and soon after that, the two of them bounded into the clearing.

Khloe wiggled in his arms. “Down.”

He held her tighter. “Not a chance, Little one. Stop squirming.”

“But, Daddy…”

He chuckled. “My Little girl has a sassy side.”

“It’s my sister. I haven’t seen her for a year.”

“And you will see her right now but from the safety of my arms.” Felix squatted down and lowered Khloe to her feet between his knees, keeping his grip on her hips.

Elias and Leah shifted as they reached the porch, and Leah ran up the few steps to throw herself at Khloe.

Felix expected the exuberance and kept a firm hold on his Little, so the two of them wouldn’t get knocked backward by Leah.

“Leah,” Elias admonished.

It was too late. The Little girls were in an embrace, swaying and hugging, but Felix did not release his Baby girl.

“I can’t believe you’re finally here,” Leah said when she leaned back. She glanced down at Khloe’s dress. “I knew you would look so pretty in that dress as soon as I saw it. It’s perfect for you.”

Khloe giggled. “Yours is pretty, too. I can’t believe we’re wearing such revealing clothes.”

Leah spun around in a circle on one leg, letting her dress flare out all around her. “It’s so freeing.”

“It is!” Khloe shouted. She tried to free herself from Felix’s grip once more, but he held tight. She sighed, her shoulders dropping. “I want to spin.”

“Not today, Baby girl.” He picked her up. “Let’s go inside. You can have snacks and spend time with Leah in the house.”

Elias and Leah followed, shutting the door behind them.

Felix headed straight for the playpen. He leaned over to deposit Khloe in the middle before turning to lift Leah in to join her sister. “Don’t move. I’ll be right back.” He jogged to the bedroom and returned less than a minute later holding all of the pillows, which he dropped down in a circle around the girls.

Leaning over the side of the enclosure, he kissed Khloe on the top of her head. “Stay in the circle.” He gripped her chin and tipped her head back. “Please.”

“Yes, Daddy,” she responded, her face stoic.

He thought she was taking him seriously. He hoped to heavens she understood his concerns. “Elias and I are going to step out onto the back porch and give you girls some time to chat.”

Khloe nodded. “Okay.”

Chapter Sixteen

Khloe watched her Daddy and Elias step outside. They closed the sliding door most of the way, leaving it open a few inches.

Leah was the first to speak at almost a whisper. “Step out onto the back porch to give us time to chat is definitely code for ‘talk about us.’” She made air quotes as she finished her sentence.

Khloe nodded. “Definitely.”

Leah looked around the floor. “Why on Earth did your Daddy surround us with pillows? I knew he was going to be overprotective, but this is way overboard.”
