We threw around ideas all night, going back and forth on what would be the best idea. I wasn’t sure if I wanted him dead or in a fucking cage like he’d done to me. Sometimes death is too good, too easy.

But if I didn’t want her to know the truth, a trial is the last thing I’d want. By midnight a plan started to form in my head.

I didn’t share my thoughts with my guys, not yet. But by the time they left to head out with their families I pretty much knew which direction this thing was gonna take.

That night after I put my son to bed, I took my woman to mine. I had to be quiet this time because we weren’t alone, but it was no less sweet.

In fact, because I had to keep her horny ass quiet, and couldn’t let the bed rock, the slow deep strokes I gave her made it feel like we were closer.

“I missed you so much Shell!” Knowing that I had to protect her from the truth had killed a lot of my anger. I would do anything for her not to ever know that she’d been used to hurt me.

Knowing what that shit would do to her made me love and want to protect her even more. Her nails dug into my ass as I rocked our hips together, driving my cock deeper into her.

“I missed you more.” Not possible but okay. For the next few minutes we just looked into each other’s eyes as we fucked until I lowered my head and kissed her.

We whispered in each other’s ears, stole kisses in between and rolled around the bed until she ended up riding my dick.

When I came I buried my face in her neck and pressed her ass down hard while jetting my cream up in her.

She refused to let me pull out and ended up getting fucked again before I finally took pity on her and let her get some rest.

Chapter 11

In the morning I took them to my parents’ place. My whole damn family was there and they had a lot of questions.

No one was happy with my decision to keep everything secret, or for not allowing them to come visit, but in the end they accepted that it was my choice, plus the fact that I refused to back down from that shit.

I didn’t tell them what I’d learned but the question on everyone’s lips was if not me, then who? Not that they hadn’t known all along that I was innocent.

But now that the truth was known they turned their attention to sleuthing. As long as none of them came close to the truth I was fine.

It was obvious from Shelly’s reaction that she didn’t have a clue and I wanted it to stay that way. I chose not to dwell on what I had ahead of me and settled down to enjoy being surrounded by my loved ones.

My son, as the only grandchild was the star of the show and it did my heart good to see him interact with my family.

I didn’t notice any friction between them and Shelly so surmised that things had stayed pretty much the same between her and them while I was away, and not just for Junior’s sake.

It was good to know that the people I love, my boys and my family alike, had had my girl’s back while I was gone. Even not knowing that I would be getting out.

By the next day Shelly had a few homes she wanted to look at so I told her we’d go check them out when I got back. I had to take my son to school.

All day as we toured the three homes she’d chosen my mind was a million miles away. By afternoon after she’d chosen the one she was sure she wanted I’d made up my mind.

It was simple really. I had to get to Roy in a way that I wouldn’t be around when it happened and something that would look like an accident. Something I’d have to take care of in advance.

There was a lot I could do with that, I’d learned a hell of a lot in the army. No car accident, too many variables and I didn’t want anyone else getting caught in this net. In the end it was easy.

Four days later while we were at the house closing, which happened that fast because I was paying cash, there was an explosion in town.

Shelly did look at me squinty eyed when the story broke, but she knew I was with her in a roomful of people when that shit went down.

So, she had to buy the story like everyone else that the good doctor’s house had blown to shit because of faulty wiring.
