I’d make sure that wouldn’t happen again, but for the time being, I kissed his cheek. “I don’t care what you’re wearing, cutie, and I’ll make sure no one tattles no matter what you have on.”

I had just as much clout as the old busybody…I just didn’t use it like she did.

His smile lit up the room as he gave me another sweet peck. “No, I want to look sexy for you so you think about grabbing my ass.”

I barely managed to give him a quick smack on his ass before he laughed and jumped up. “I’ll be right back.”

“No, you won’t. You have paint in your hair again. Get a shower.” That got me a wicked giggle as we both thought about me helping him get clean, but I didn’t want to rush into that until I knew more about his limits and his preferences.

Just because I knew what his little side liked to eat and color did not mean we should be having sex yet.

God, just thinking that was odd, but it was true.

I knew a large part of his personality and what he needed out of a partner, but there were huge knowledge gaps that needed to be filled.

And I had plenty of time to make a list as my cutie scrubbed the paint out of his hair and every other crevice he’d probably somehow gotten it into.

“So how much conversation earns me…earns me the title of well-behaved?” I wasn’t sure Camden’s question was as subtle as he thought it was, but luckily we’d been seated in a very private section of the restaurant.

And a nice premeal tip had assured that we wouldn’t have anyone close to us any time soon.

“I’m supposed to be reassuring you that I can be trusted and that I’m safe to submit to.” My response had him clearly trying not to laugh.

“But my grandmother ran a background check on you.” He shrugged, not finding the odd way we’d met a stumbling block. “You hung my pictures yesterday and you ate chicken nuggets on our first date.”

His list of why he should submit to me was fascinating, and it got cuter as he continued. “You’re not scary and it’s been a really long time since I had someone cute, sweet, not scary, and just nice show up at my front door. I’m not looking this gift horse in the mouth.”

Rolling my eyes had him laughing. “I’m not into that. It’s entirely too complicated.”

That had his laughter turning to giggles as he nodded. “I agree.”

That was definitely good to know.

Pups I could handle…but horse gear?

I was art gallery rich, not horse farm rich.

“I’m going to try not to go around in circles about that because technically you made good points, but so we’re both on the same page, you should take your safety more seriously.” That did not help his giggling problem.

“How have you not been a Daddy before?” His delight said he really didn’t understand how I’d missed out on my calling. “You’re just…”

As he waved his hands, I took his question seriously and elaborated since we had enough privacy. “I started learning about BDSM in college when some of the guys in my dorm were fascinating, and then actually I got serious about it in my early twenties. The couple I met that explained the real-life version of BDSM instead of just the online stuff was very traditional.”

“Oh.” That had him cocking his head, probably painting a pretty accurate picture in his mind. “That probably wasn’t the cute kind of submission.”

“No.” Shrugging, I tried to sort through everything in my head. “I just didn’t realize how many other flavors there were out there. I knew I liked part of what they had, but I never clicked with dating anyone from that side of the lifestyle.”

So I’d yo-yoed back and forth, trying again and then backing off when it felt wrong.

“But you like this side of things?” He seemed confident as he asked the question, but I knew he wouldn’t have asked if he hadn’t needed the confirmation.

“Yes. I’ll admit to worrying about doing it wrong or not taking charge in the right ways, but I’ve enjoyed spending time with you.” His little side was delightfully adorable no matter what we were doing. “I like taking care of you.”

And judging from the items he had in his playroom, there were a variety of ways he explored being little that we hadn’t really touched on yet.

“I’m glad.” His bashful smile had me reaching over to take his hand.

As he laced his fingers through mine, he peeked up at me through long lashes. “You just have to tell me if I mention something you don’t want to do during Daddy time. If we only do the things we’ve done so far, I will be perfectly content. You hit all the right feels with everything we’ve done.”
