My breath hitched, ready and eager for more.

‘I was very good at this,’ I mumbled, swallowing as I waited for another kiss.

‘Hmmm,’ he hummed.

‘I promise, you’d have been impressed.’

‘Show me then,’ he breathed.

I got another kiss, this time it lasted for three seconds, and I felt his tongue tasting my bottom lip. My grip tightened on his sweater.

Pulling on it.

Pulling on William.

‘Breathe, Charlie.’

His voice was nothing but a whisper on my skin. His lips moved over to the corner of my mouth and he pressed a gentle kiss to the spot while his fingers slid into my hair, his palm covering my cheekbone and my ear. My head dropped to the side, giving him full access.

‘I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,’ he mentioned, pressing his body flush against mine.

I was quite busy trying to remember how to breathe.

His lips pressed against my jawline. Once. Twice. While his stubble deliciously scratched at my sensitive skin. ‘Your smell drives me insane. You, sweetheart, drive me insane without even knowing what you’re doing.’

Next he kissed right below my ear. ‘Charlie… Are you real?’

I lost my mind and moaned.

He practically groaned my name again, and his voice was so warm, so sweet, so hard and yet soft. It was anguish I was hearing in his voice, and I loved it. I loved that it was me who made him sound like that. It was my favourite sound in the world. His stubble burned my skin as he shifted back to my lips and his hand tightened in my hair.

He nipped at my lips again, sending a shiver through my spine.

‘You’re not gonna say anything?’

‘Words are lost to me, I think.’ I waited to understand what I was feeling. ‘I want to make it good for you.’

‘You are more than good for me, already. More than I’ve ever imagined.’

He kissed me softly with his warm and firm lips, and I opened my mouth for him. His tongue broke the seam of my lips and I whimpered – the sound coming from somewhere deep within me. He drew back before I could have enough.

I could hardly think over the beating sound of my heart.

I opened my eyes.

‘More?’ he asked, and I noticed how dark his eyes had become. How hard he was studying my eyes and then my lips as if he was barely holding himself back.

I nodded, thrilled and vibrating. And just like that he gave me more.

I stopped gripping his sweater with my right hand and slid it behind his neck, trying to make sure he wouldn’t leave me, pulling him somehow even closer.

He licked my lips, tilted his head, tongue delving into my mouth, and fireworks exploded behind my eyes.

It started as soft, tentative and careful, but we were both pulling at each other. One of his hands was still in my hair, his grip tight. I pushed up onto my tiptoes just to get closer to him even though it wasn’t physically possible anymore. His other hand coasted against my waist and he gripped the back of my shirt, crushing the fabric in his hand.

My head swam, a slow heat moving down from head to toe. We surfaced, two, three times just to draw in some breaths and then immediately went back in. The fourth time we had to stop, I was already feeling lightheaded.

I managed to open my eyes and stared at William’s. We were both breathing in short bursts. I watched as something shifted in his gaze. His movements were slow and deliberate when he bent down, eyes still on mine, and picked me up. I let out a shallow gasp and wrapped my arms around his neck. He turned us around, found the little table that was standing between the two chairs and gently put me on it.

I skimmed my teeth over my bottom lip, my stomach fluttering.

Looking at me, William laughed huskily and dropped his forehead on my neck. I revelled in the fact that he was breathing so hard.

‘I love kissing,’ I whispered, my voice rough and drowsy as I touched my already swollen lips with my fingertips. ‘I missed it.’

‘I can see that,’ he replied, his eyes heated.

I felt his wet and warm lips against my neck as he roughly dragged me forward to the edge of the shaky table by my hips. A little moan escaped from me when he pushed open my legs with his thighs and nestled himself against me.

‘Shhh. Quiet. I’m not done.’

I was smiling at him, because I was giddy from our newfound closeness, when he wrapped his long fingers around my neck and tugged me to his mouth.

This kiss.

This specific kiss was to sate hunger, and I went in with all I had.

We kissed as if we had practised for this specific kiss in other lifetimes. Everything we lived and went through was so we could have this exact moment in this exact time. And there would never be any other kiss like this. Not with any guy other than the guy in my arms.
