He spent the rest of the early morning hours completing reports, updating his superiors on the change in circumstances. Both his superiors inside the local DEA office who he lied to, saying he’d worked his way into becoming Dev’s boyfriend. Then to the superiors who mattered, telling the AG’s office the truth.

Luckily, without too much difficulty last night, Shanna and Joe had agreed to hold his secrets until he had time to explain. As much as Shanna wanted those few minutes to be right now, they had to get Dev wired and out of the house to see if the biker truly planned to cooperate. They’d follow Dev’s every move, both by the visual and audio equipment he’d wear, as well as the GPS tracking devices on all his vehicles.

The next seventy-hours were crucial in showing whether Dev was going to cut it as an informant. The biker was so damned volatile, making it hard as hell to predict what might happen from here. Regardless of the reassurance he had given his superiors about the role Dev committed to play.

He’d gotten kudos for taming the famous Devilman, a celebrity in the world of law enforcement. If they only knew Dev’s current activity inside his bedroom.

“Can’t you make him stop?” Joe asked, following Shanna into the apartment with all the same frustration. His own eyes red-rimmed from exhaustion, Joe held handfuls of surveillance equipment. He dumped the contents on the small kitchen table Cash worked from. “He’s insane. He has no sense of dignity.”

“What?” Shanna asked. Her full focus landed on Dev’s shut bedroom door.

“At least he’s finally kept the door closed,” Cash muttered, understanding exactly what Joe was talking about. His attention going to the equipment Joe had dropped there. The days of a wire and recorder strapped to someone’s chest were long gone. Cash fingered the necklace that had a hidden camera and listening device in its design.

“What’s he doing?” Shanna asked again.

“You haven’t seen? Thank goodness. I wondered what you thought,” Joe said, looking at the closed door with Shanna. “He’s been naked since the minute he hit the apartment. He dances with his junk on full display in front of the cameras then jacks off to a bunch of drawings. He’s done it three times now. He’s crazy.”

Cash appreciated Joe leaving out Dev’s preferred place to rub one off had been the living room close to where Cash sat. What Joe and Shanna didn’t seem to understand and Cash knew as the truth was that Dev was putting the show on for Cash. Determined to toy with him. Get embedded under his skin, and it worked. He’d been riveted to the show.

Shanna gave a disgusted huff and stomped toward his bedroom door, banging hard with her fist.

“What?” Dev asked in that fire-breathing tone he used so well. The door flew open. Of course he was still nude. No other person on the planet was as free with their body as Dev.

When he saw Shanna, his bravado changed in a second. He dropped his hands to cover his junk. It didn’t work. Dev was a hanger as well as a grower. Cash’s lip twitched, but he held back any other expression.

“Put some fucking clothes on. You’re embarrassing me,” she demanded. Her hands flew in the air in a disgusted lift. “Why’s every member of my family so weird?”

Shanna covered her eyes and turned her back on Dev. When she did, Dev dropped his cock, and flipped Cash the bird. “You need to make yourself known, little sis. I gotta make sure they see I’m not hidin’ anything.”

“You’re being an ass,” Shanna shot back over her shoulder.

“Right, I’m the ass.” Dev stepped back, still facing Cash and reached for the door, sending it slamming shut. Again while flipping Cash off. Based on the creaks in the floor, Dev headed toward the bathroom. Cash could only mash his palms in his eyes, willing himself to think clearly. This was too much. Seriously one of the longest nights of his life.

Shanna let go of a deep, years in the making, frustrated sigh, and started back toward Cash. “So explain this Attorney General Exempt Operations unit and why I now work for them.”

Since Cash had left lots of information out of his explanation last night and didn’t plan to fill in those holes until he had to, he had to be thoughtful on the best way to proceed. His silence brought Joe’s attention back to him too.

“The AGEOs is a revenue generating department inside the Department of Justice. There’s little known about them except they deal with some shady shit. Laws don’t apply to them. They fly safely under the radar until something significant happens then they swoop in, correct the situation, and leave. They’re stealthy like that,” Joe explained, giving away more than Cash had planned to say. “Something must really be wrong if Cash is here, working undercover.”
