“Fuck you, Adae.” She walked toward a bed with lime green sheets and slung her keys on it.

“No. You listen. The Boto Brothers should satisfy the debt. Together they’re worth ten million blood coins, right? Fine.” She closed the phone.

And then, in a flash, she turned around and a needle flew out of her hand.

What?!

I jumped into the air, twisting out of its path.

It almost grazed my shoulder. My magical cloak broke away. I landed on my feet and slammed the door shut. “So you did know I was behind you?”

Instead of answer, she charged for me with her fangs extended and her foot aiming for my face.

Chapter 3

The Deal

Azar

We fought in the room.

She got me good with several kicks.

She was no match, and she was definitely too sexy to hurt.

Fatou’s breasts jiggled as she threw another needle.

I knocked it away with my left hand.

It hit the wall and cracked into pieces.

“Is this how you greet all of your friends?” I grabbed her arm with my right hand, pulling her against the front wall and pressing my body into hers.

Damn, she feels good.

I forced myself not to act on my heightened desires, not to rip that dress off and shove my cock into that sweet pussy. “Could you see through my magic?”

“I assumed something or someone was behind me when I didn’t hear the door close.” Her heart thumped against her chest. Those violet eyes searched the room for some sort of escape. She was scared.

I frowned.

I hadn’t meant to let things get out of control. Loosening my grip, I inhaled her scent. That honey aroma calmed me.

“What’s going on with these needles?” I gently touched her chin and guided her to face me. “I thought we were friends.”

“Why did you follow me?” Fatou bared those pearly fangs at me.

I attempted to smother a laugh, but it came out anyway.

“So, I’m funny to you?”

“No, I take you very seriously.” I caressed her neck with my fingers, enjoying its silky texture.

My cock hardened. The fabric rubbed against my shaft, the friction making me moan. My body did not know how to handle the sensations well, and I squeezed my eyes shut for a few seconds.

I knew that I had to touch myself.

Fatou’s voice brought me out of the lusty stupor. “Are you okay?”

I opened my eyes. “Your scent taunts me.”

She blinked.

“Can you help me with that, Fatou?”

“How?”

“Take off your clothes.”

She frowned.

Those delectable breasts stretched her red dress, begging me to taste, lick, and fuck them.

“Where’s your husband?” I asked.

If he gets in my way I’ll kill him.

“What?” Her mouth dropped open. Her fangs disappeared back into her gums.

“Where is your husband?”

“Why?” She searched my face. “Do you know him?”

“No.” Still holding her against the wall, I snatched off the ugly wig and threw it across the room. “But I wonder what kind of man would have his wife pay off his debt and do it in such a dangerous way.”

“He’s not a man. He’s a vampire and not a very nice one either.” She sighed. “Let go of me. Please.”

“Will you stop throwing needles at me?”

“Yes.”

“A fairy cannot tell a direct lie or break a direct promise, though you all may often distort your words.”

“I won’t throw needles at you.”

I loosened my hand around her neck and reluctantly backed away.

“Why are you here?” She remained at the door, watching me as I sat on the bed.

The springs creaked. My jacket disappeared into thin air, exposing my bare chest. I leaned all the way back and balanced myself on my elbows.

Maybe my being farther away will calm her and me.

“I’m here because you smell better than any creature I’ve come into contact in with in over 150 years.”

She widened her eyes.

“Why did you lie to Adae?” I asked. “You told him that I wasn’t in the club.”

“He would want me to chase you forever.” She strolled over to the hotel room’s desk and leaned on it. The dress’s bottom rose and revealed the curve of her thighs.

I should have ripped that dress off of her when I had the chance.

My mouth watered.

Then, I had a sudden realization. “Hold on. You lied. So. . .fairies can lie? That can’t be right.”

“Slavic fairies can’t lie. African fairies can say whatever they want.” Her fingers toyed with the turquoise pen on her desk, rolling it back and forth.

I raised my eyebrows. “Why is that?”

“My mother explained that we were all made differently. They’re spirits of the dead. We’re spirits of nature.”

“I don’t think that is true.”

She shrugged. “Then, only God knows.”

“And Satan.” I smirked.

She twisted the pen on the table. “I don’t have the time to chase you, Azar.”

“What do you have time for?” I curled my lips into a smile and followed the delicate line of her cushioned hips.

She slid her index finger down the pen.
