One by one, they make their way through their gifts, even the one that was officially from me and Atlas. But, there’s one more just from me.

“Thank you guys,” Dante says once they’ve opened them all. “This is incredible.”

“You have one more from me,” I chirp, untangling myself from Atlas’s lap. “Come on, babe. I need help carrying it.”

Atlas stands, and we head to my office. Inside is a massive canvas painting that will look great over their fireplace. It’ll fit perfectly too because I measured. Atlas picks up one end, and I grab the other. Together, we carry it out into the living room. All eyes are on us, each person eager to see what I’ve made.

I shoot Atlas a nervous look, but he smiles and winks, sending the anxiety elsewhere. I’ve wanted to admit to this for some time to those closest to us, but I just wasn’t sure how.

“I hope you like it.”

Atlas and I turn the painting around. My gaze is fixed on Jax and Dante. Dante blinks hard, shocked. It’s Jax who speaks first.

“You little shit,” he breathes. “You. Little. Shit.”

“It’s even signed by the artist,” I sass, pointing to the black scrawling at the bottom.

Rainbow Vigilante.

After I got Atlas to give me back my spray paints, I created one of the infamous rainbows that were being tagged all over town. Just for my big, overprotective brother and his surly sheriff fiancé.

“I knew it!” Cato cries out. “You owe me twenty bucks, Brie baby.”

Dante smirks at me and shakes his head. “Unbelievable.”

“Believe it, big bro. But don’t worry, the Rainbow Vigilante assured me it’s his last one.” I give him an exaggerated wink. “Now that that’s out of the way. Who wants a cocktail?”

All three cops glower at me.

“Kidding. God. You guys are all so grumpy.”

We spend the rest of the afternoon laughing and enjoying ourselves. When everyone finally leaves and we’ve cleaned up, I’m exhausted. Atlas practically rips my clothes off and tosses me onto the bed, forcing me to rest. He pulls my naked body to his and kisses the top of my head.

“Are you happy, sweetheart?”

“Honestly, Atlas…” His body tenses at my seriousness. “I’ve never been happier.”

All tension floods from him. He rolls me onto my back, trying to steal my soul with a single kiss that makes me see all the colors of the rainbow at once.

A kaleidoscope of Atlas.

We don’t sleep.

No, we kiss and kiss and kiss because we never want to stop.
