When it was over, I helped him take down the screen, and we carried everything inside. I was waiting for him to finish putting everything away in the closet when I told him, “I really enjoyed the movie.”

“I did, too. We’ll have to do it again sometime.”

“I’d like that.”

He closed the closet, then turned to face me as he asked, “You ready to head back?”

It was late, but I’d had such an amazing night with him, and I wasn’t ready for it to end. I wasn’t sure how to tell him that, so I simply shook my head no.

He studied me for a moment, and like he could read my mind, he stepped closer and slipped his arm behind my back, inching me closer. Desire flashed through his eyes, and I knew the moment had finally come.

He was finally going to kiss me again.

I held my breath as he lowered his mouth to mine. His rough hands slid across my skin with reverence and possessiveness like I’d never known, and I could literally feel his passion pouring into me as he deepened the kiss. His fingertips twisted into my hair as he raked his teeth across my bottom lip, nipping me lightly.

And just like that, I was hit with a whirlwind of heat and desire, and I had to hold onto him to keep myself from becoming lost in a delicious haze of hormones and lust. Being in his arms was everything I’d imagined it would be and more. The more turned on I became, the more I imagined all the wicked things he could do to me.

His lips on my neck.

His greedy hands on my body.

The pleasure-filled orgasms he’d give me over and over again.

It wasn’t like me to have such thoughts—not like these, but it felt so good to have his mouth on mine, and I couldn’t get enough.

A wanton groan slipped through my lips as I inched closer, pressing my body against his. I’d never felt so consumed with need. I wanted him so much—more than I ever dreamed possible, and if his touch was any indication, he felt the same about me. Things were quickly getting heated, and I had a feeling they were only going to get more heated—which made me a little nervous.

It was only our first date. I wasn’t ready to take that step with him, so I placed my palms on his broad, muscular chest and gave him a gentle push as I stepped back, breaking our embrace. Concern flashed through his eyes as he asked, “Something wrong?”

“No... maybe,” I stammered. “It’s just a little fast.”

“We’ve known each other for six years. I wouldn’t say that’s exactly fast.”

“We’ve known each other, but we’ve never even been on a date before tonight. This is all new, and I don’t want to mess things up by moving too fast.”

“I get it.” He leaned in and gave me a quick kiss on the temple. “We can take things at whatever speed you want.”

“Thank you, Wyatt. I appreciate that.”

“I guess I should be getting you back.”

“Okay.”

He waited as I collected my things, then led me out to his truck. And just like that, our date was over, and we were headed back to the clubhouse. I glanced over at Wyatt, and just looking at his handsome face had me second-guessing my decision to take things slow. It was too late to do anything about it now, so I sighed and turned my attention to the road ahead.

“You okay over there?”

“Yeah, I’m good,” I lied. “Just a little tired.”

“Hope I didn’t keep you out too late.”

“No, not at all. I had a wonderful time, and I’m sad it had to end.”

“Well, how ‘bout we go do something tomorrow night?”

“What would you want to do?”

“I’m up for anything. We could go to the city, or we could just hang at my place again. Whatever you want.”

“Either would be great. I honestly don’t care what we do, so you choose.”

“Okay, we’ll figure out something.”

When we got to the clubhouse, Wyatt led me inside, and to my surprise, we didn’t see any of the brothers as we walked down the hall to my room. I opened my door and thought he’d follow me inside, but he remained fixed in the doorway. “I best be going.”

“Okay.” The thought of him leaving made my heart ache a little. “Good night.”

“Night.”

With that, he brought his hands to my face, gently cupping his palms along my jaw as he lowered his lips to mine, kissing me passionately. God. He felt so good, smelled so good, and I couldn’t help but let myself get swept away.

I let my hands roam over the perfectly defined muscles of his chest, then around to his back as I inched closer. I felt so safe in his arms, like nothing in the world could harm me as long as he was holding me close. Just as I was melting into his arms, he released my mouth and said, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
