“You don’t freakin’ speak American? Sure sounded like that’s what I was speakin’.”

Speak American.

Being a complete dick must be a prerequisite to becoming a Demon. “Am I drivin’ this truck? And when you say south, just how south?”

“You ain’t drivin’, so don’t need to answer that. Just need you to go along for protection.”

Totally unexpected but, hot damn, this was good news. For the task force, anyway. Driving several days to the border and back with some Demon who wouldn’t stop long enough to wash his pits in a truck stop sink wasn’t the best news for Decker. “Protection from what?”

Screw’s eyes narrowed on him before dropping to the woman. “Told you no fuckin’ teeth!”

When the VP raised his fist, every muscle on Decker turned to stone like it had when Wolf acted the same way. His own fingers curled into fists when the woman whimpered and flinched in response. After a second, Screw dropped his hand and relaxed, then turned his attention back to Decker.

What was with these assholes wanting to strike women for the slightest misstep?

If he had punched her… There was no telling what Decker would’ve done. However he responded wouldn’t have been good. For himself or Screw.

“Ain’t for you to question orders. Can you keep your fuckin’ mouth shut and your eyes open?”

“Yeah. Said I’ll do whatever the fuck I need to do to earn my patches. Wasn’t lyin’ ‘bout that.”

Screw nodded. “Gotta go now.”

Now? Shit. “Need to let my babysitter know.”

“Why the fuck are you sharin’ that problem with me? Do it and get goin’. Chewie’s waitin’.”

Who the fuck was Chewie? He thumbed through the Rolodex of Demons in his mind and came up blank. “Where’s he waitin’?”

“At the truck.”

Christ almighty. “Gotta give me more than that, Screw. New ‘round here. Ain’t got a clue where this fuckin’ truck’s kept.”

Screw didn’t answer because he was in the midst of busting a nut in the woman’s mouth while stroking her throat for whatever reason. Decker preferred to stay uneducated on that reason.

“Yeah. Swallow all’a that, bitch. That’s it.” Once his hip spasms were over, he pulled his slobbery dick from her mouth and without warning, shoved her so hard she fell back on her ass in the dirt.

Decker forced himself to remain where he stood and not give her a hand up.

“Now get lost,” Screw growled at her as he tucked his dick away. “Find me in ‘bout an hour. Gonna give you more of the same. Only, if you use teeth that time, gonna knock ‘em all out. You got me?”

Not bothering to wait for her response, the VP turned to Decker and held out his hand.

Decker stared at it, not knowing what the fuck was going on. Or whether he wanted to touch the hand that just touched his wet dick.

“Phone,” Screw demanded.

Of course. He pulled his cell phone from his back pocket, unlocked it and opened Google Maps. Then he handed the phone over to Screw, who took forever to type in the location, cursing the whole time.

It was a pretty good guess that Screw never took typing in high school.

When he got his phone back, he glanced at the address. It was parked about a half hour from where they were standing.

“Get goin’ so you ain’t holdin’ up the delivery.”

Decker pinned his lips together so he wouldn’t grin at this new turn of events. “You got it.” With a single nod, he turned on his heels and strode back to the house. He should take one last peek around to check for Sadie on his way out to his assigned vehicle.

No surprise he didn’t see her, but he needed to find out which Demon was hooking up with her.

He should have plenty of time to figure out a plan on the long trip south. He also needed to let Crew know about their sudden luck. Because this was the perfect opportunity to uncover the identity of the drug cartel, and even possibly the location of the lab house so they could pass that info on to the Houston DEA, if they didn’t already have it. They might not, since the lab house could be moved in the blink of an eye. It never remained in the same place for very long.

He kept his eyes peeled for Sadie as he worked his way across the front yard. Once he got to the Ranger, he hopped in and, even though it was late and Sloane was probably asleep, he quickly shot off a text to her anyway so it was waiting for her in the morning.

Will be gone for the next couple of days. Maybe longer. They got me helping with something.

She didn’t need to know the details. Just the basics.

He quickly followed it up with: Searched for her. Didn’t find her. Asked around. Nothing. Sorry. Won’t give up.
