Not bad for a story made on the fly.

Bulldog’s brow dropped low. “Why she say it was for you, then?”

Crew shrugged. “Why do women do anything? My guess is, it was easier that way since it ain’t nobody’s business who it’s for. Ain’t that right? Long as you’re gettin’ the scratch and we’re gettin’ the goods, does it really fuckin’ matter who’s appreciatin’ the product? Or in this case, she’s bustin’ her ass in your bar in exchange for the goods.”

“You’re right. Ain’t nobody’s business... ‘Less you’re a pig.”

“I look like a pig?”

Bulldog’s eyes narrowed on him as he scratched at his beard. “Yeah, you kinda do.”

“Then you need to get your fuckin’ eyes checked. And why the fuck would you ask me to join your merry band of brothers if I smelled like pork?”

“Maybe I was testin’ you.”

Sure, buddy.

Crew needed to steer the conversation back to the meth and Cabrera. “Much better to send her out to work for it than use my own hard-earned cash. Am I right?”

“Ain’t gonna complain that she’s willin’ to work for somethin’ other than cash.”

“About that work… When you had your hands on my ol’ lady’s shoulders, you looked like you were protectin’ her. That right?” He had to handle this carefully. He didn’t want to piss the big man off, but he needed to set some ground rules.

“Keep an eye on her ‘cause she’s a little thing. My customers ain’t so little and can be a bit pushy when they see somethin’ they want.”

At least the man was aware of Cabrera’s appeal. “And they want my ol’ lady?”

“Who wouldn’t? She ain’t got no big ol’ titties like they normally go for and she’s a little darker than most ‘round here prefer, but with everythin’ else about her, it’s damn easy to look past those two negatives.”

Well, hell, that was a damn relief. The woman only had two negatives according to the critic standing before him.

Cabrera would probably be happy to hear that.

Now, if she asked Crew what her negatives were, his list would be a hell of a lot different than these outlaw bikers since they were all about “big ol’ titties” and pale as fuck skin.

“So, Bulldog, the reason I’m bringin’ this up is, I got a problem and maybe you can help with that.”

“I’m listenin’.”

“Saw some bruises on her this morning when she was ridin’ my cock and to be honest with you, it twisted me up a bit. Means some of your customers are takin’ advantage of her. That has me thinkin’ you need to protect her better. And since that patch on your chest claims you’re the Demons’ enforcer, you should know how to do that, right?”

Bulldog’s bearded cover jaw became as tight as an overstretched piano wire. “Got shit under control here.”

The man did not like being questioned about how he managed the bar.

To be expected. However, Crew wasn’t finished yet.

“Those marks I saw on her ain’t from me, if you get what I’m sayin’. That tells me you ain’t protectin’ her. So, that’s why my ass is on this stool tonight. Either you’re gonna have to do your job, or I will.”

Chapter Twenty-Five

A muscle jumped in Bulldog’s cheek. He must not have liked Crew’s threat.

Good.

However, he wasn’t done yet. “If she keeps gettin’ manhandled by your customers and marks that didn’t come from my own hand, somethin’s gonna have to be done.”

“Like what?” Bulldog asked tightly.

“Well, first of all, I’m gonna have a little discussion with the asshole touchin’ her. Warnin’, it ain’t gonna be with words. Then I’m gonna tell her she’s done workin’ here. That’ll be your loss, not mine, as I can find other sources to buy those drinks my brother enjoys so much. You get what I’m sayin’?”

“You makin’ threats?”

“Not to you. Only to the motherfuckers touchin’ my ol’ lady without my permission. Bet you wouldn’t allow that with yours.”

Bulldog pursed his lips as he considered Crew.

“You got an ol’ lady, Bulldog?” Before he let the man answer, Crew continued, “You okay with other men touchin’ her? My woman had a bruise on her damn tit ‘cause somebody pinched her there. Lucky I wasn’t here when it happened. Otherwise, somebody woulda been leavin’ this place in a fuckin’ body bag and you would’ve had a big damn mess to clean up. And that ain’t good for business, is it?”

“You can’t come in here makin’ your own rules,” Bulldog growled.

“Ain’t makin’ rules for your place. Makin’ rules for my Rosie. I’m just here to make sure those rules ain’t gettin’ broken. You feel me?”

“Yeah.” The Demon leaned in really close. Close enough that Crew could smell his gag-worthy breath. “But lemme make somethin’ clear. This is my fuckin’ bar. You got a problem with somebody in it, you bring it to me. I’ll fuckin’ handle it.”
