“I’m not hungry,” I say breathlessly, only to have my stomach rat me out.

My cheeks heat, while Clayton kisses my temple, chuckling at me. I miss his heat, as soon as he releases me, taking a step back. I want to reach out and pull him back into me. Instead, I reach for the fabric of his shirt I’m wearing, pulling it up onto my shoulder.

It only slips back down, causing Clayton to step forward once more. He bends his head down, kissing the exposed skin of my shoulder. He peeks his tongue out for a taste, but before I can reach for him to draw him in, he’s gone.

“Come, we have a long day. You need to eat something before we get tied up,” he commands.

I’m pissed that my body obeys him before I have a chance to tell my feet to stay put. Clayton wraps my hand in his long fingers, leading me out of the room. His hand is so warm, I relax in his hold without a thought.

“How far do you plan to take this wedding thing?” I blurt out, trying to find a distraction from the current buzzing up my arm.

Clayton looks over his shoulder at me as he leads me down the stairs. His eyes search mine before he turns to focus on descending the rest of the steps. I can’t help allowing my eyes to travel over his body. I watch his broad back as it stretches his T-shirt, then my eyes fall to the jeans hugging his ass.

I suddenly feel like I need a glass of water. Phew, a sister is parched, staring at this man. I lick my lips, remembering the taste of his lips. I’m so focused on him, I stumble on the last step.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Clayton turns, catching me in his strong arms. My face burns with embarrassment. I look up through my lashes to find him staring down at me.

Those gray eyes stare back at my browns. My thoughts and questions are completely forgotten. A smile tugs his full lips in one corner.

He lifts a brow, mirth written in his orbs. I try to step back out of his embrace, but he’s not having it. He tugs me closer, his hands taking that familiar trip of his. This time I don’t try to stop him.

His warm palms on my ass are more comforting than I want to admit. A war is happening behind the amusement in his stare. I can also feel him growing hard against me.

I see the moment he makes a decision. His focus drops to my lips, his hold tightens—biting into my curves, and his head begins to descend. I don’t realize I’m holding my breath until his phone starts to ring at the very same time the doorbell chimes. He looks at his watch while placing his phone to his ear.

“Go eat,” he says to me, holding the phone away from his mouth, leaning in to place a kiss on my temple.

He moves toward the front of the apartment, affording me another look at his spectacular ass. I blow out a breath, shaking my head and move over to the kitchen. There’s food on the countertop, but a table comes into view, revealing two place settings with covered plates.

I move to those, figuring Clayton had them placed there for us. I lift one of the lids to find what looks like turkey bacon, an omelet, and grapes. The aromas captivate me, causing my mouth to water. My stomach makes a low growl. I roll my eyes. A smile touches my lips.

I take a seat and get comfortable before digging in. My eyes close instantly, a moan moves from my lips. I look down at my plate in awe.

This is the best omelet I’ve ever had. So good. I reach for a piece of bacon and bite into it. It’s delicious as well. Not salty or soggy.

I really tuck into the plate, saving the fruit for last. As I eat, Clayton’s voice rumbles in the nearby distance. A lithe middle-aged blonde makes her way into the dining area with a big smile on her face. I place my fork down and wipe my hands on the napkin I placed on my lap.

“Oh, please continue,” the blonde chimes as she places a binder on the table. “Clayton said you were having breakfast. I’m just going to grab a cup of coffee. I’m Delta, by the way. I’ll be helping you plan the wedding of your dreams.”

“Nice to meet you, I’m Sidney.” I take the hand she offers, shaking it.

“Let’s see the ring,” she says, with a twinkle in her eyes.

I lift my left hand up for her to see. Her eyes nearly pop from her head, but she recovers nicely. I almost laugh out loud at her.
