“That’s what I want,” Graham said. “I … don’t want to die. I want to live.”

Rose felt tears come to her eyes.

“Besides, I think I would like to see my handiwork in action,” Graham said.

“Please tell me you don’t want to watch me and Rose have sex. There are limits to what my wolf will allow.”

“Gross, no, absolutely not. Get you head out of the gutter. I’m talking kids. Come on, the two of you are going to make amazing parents. Look how you’re raising me. I’m doing okay.”

“Graham, you’re not our child,” Rose said.

“Exactly, which is why I know all of this is going to be more than okay. I heard what you two said. You love each other and this is going to work. All you’ve got to do is trust me.” He smiled, looking mighty pleased with himself.

Rocco wrapped his arms around her and pressed a kiss to her temple. “You’re right, I do love her, and I think it would be pretty amazing to have a kid running around.”

Rose groaned. “You two, come on, you’re talking about me being pregnant for nine months, and trust me, pregnant females are not always the easiest to be around. We’re demanding, short-tempered, hungry, irritable.”

“So, you’re talking about every female who lives?” Graham asked.

“Oh, I see you’re going to be a hit with the ladies,” Rose said.

The truth was, it sounded quite perfect to her.

Epilogue

Nine Months Later

Rocco didn’t know who was pacing more, him or Graham.

The last nine months had been like a whirlwind. He had no idea that when he and Graham were talking about Rose being pregnant, she was in fact pregnant. It had taken them a couple of months to see the changes begin. Her tits started first, getting larger, and then her waistline thickened, and then there was no hiding what was happening. He and Rose were going to have a baby. And each month had been an interesting story.

“She’s not screaming,” Graham said.

“Anymore.”

“You should be in there,” he said.

Rocco looked toward his friend and glared. Rose had kicked him out because he’d been too busy bossing around the wolf doctors as she gave birth.

They were at the Poison Wolves MC clubhouse, in his old bedroom. Rose had gotten tired of cleaning up the messes in her cabin and had insisted on giving birth close to the pack.

It would seem his woman, his mate, in pregnancy, craved the love and support of the pack, not that he had any problem with that. He loved the pack. But he also knew his wife, and he couldn’t help but wonder what she would be like after the baby was born. He didn’t know if she was going to reject them.

A sudden scream filled the air.

In the last nine months, a lot of stuff had happened. Several more infected humans had come to the pack. They had only been able to save three of them by using their blood to guide them through the transition.

Elizabeth Cole had been able to isolate why there were some humans who didn’t take to the blood, and others did. Milton had used bear blood as well as saliva. That, combined with wolf, made for a deadly concoction. There was no known cure for a bear bite. It was lethal to wolves, and mixing the two together wasn’t a successful concoction.

Graham had good and bad months. The good months, he was able to run with the pack, but his body would change. He had strength and speed, but there were limits to it.

Rocco also knew his friend had a voice in his mind, as if there was a wolf guiding him. He and Rose did the best they could. Rocco had come to love Graham like a friend. He was probably closer to him than he was to most of the Poison Wolves MC.

Rocco pulled out of his thoughts as he heard that sweet and special sound—the sound of a baby’s first scream—and he felt the tears fill his eyes, as she looked toward his best friend.

“Your baby is here.”

He’d kept his promise to Rose, but now, nothing was keeping him away. He stepped into the room to see Amelia placing his child in Rose’s arms. His mate looked up at him, a smile on her lips.

“We have a daughter,” Rose said.

Rocco walked toward his mate and pressed a kiss to her sweaty brow. “I love you,” he said.

“I love you too. Look what we made,” she said.
