The sounds she made went straight to his cock, and he couldn’t ever remember being this hard for a woman before. In the back of his mind, the sensible part was questioning what he was doing, but the stubborn asshole that he was refused to listen.

Anna-Beth had been in his world for a matter of months. Her closeness was driving him crazy. He had to have her, and there was no way he was going to allow her family to marry her off.

I’ll keep her.

It was an insane thought, and yet, not an entirely bad one.

He liked her, and he had a feeling she liked him. They could make this work.

Anna-Beth’s orgasm flooded her body, and she was so wet. Even before she had come down from her orgasm, George moved between her spread legs.

His impatience took him by surprise, but he wanted to feel her cunt wrapped around him in the last throes of her orgasm.

Lining the tip to her entrance, he stared into her blue eyes, and then slammed forward and watched as her face contorted in pain.

She was so tight. Tighter than he ever imagined.

Not only did she look in pain, but he saw tears spring to her eyes.

He was hurting her, and then he suddenly understood what was happening.

George had just taken her virginity.

One Week Later

Anna-Beth stared out across the driveway, and she couldn’t help but feel disappointed as once again George hadn’t returned home. One week ago, they had sex, and he’d been incredibly pissed with her for not telling him she was a virgin. He’d bombarded her with endless questions, most of which she couldn’t answer.

If he was upset with her being a virgin, she didn’t think he was going to take kindly to the reason why. Him. She’d not wanted to be with any other man because … well … she was already in love with him.

George, up until a few months ago, hadn’t even realized she existed. At least, that was how it had felt to her. Now, she had to wonder if he still knew.

George hadn’t stuck around. After he’d shouted his endless questions, that very night he’d taken off.

She was tempted to call her brother, but she didn’t want to run the risk of telling him what happened. If she did that, then this position she’d found herself in would be taken from her.

Her family already considered her a liability. Blowing out a breath, she made her way back to the kitchen. There was nothing else for her to do.

Actually, she knew there was one thing she could do. It did involve calling her brother, and then perhaps lying to him. She was willing to risk it, so she pulled out her cell phone and dialed his number. Much to her surprise, Malcolm answered on the third ring.

“What’s up, sis?”

His greeting told her he might not have talked to George yet.

“Hi, uh, I know this is going to sound kind of weird, but does George have a city apartment close to his … building?” she asked, nibbling her lip.

“Yeah, why?”

“I don’t suppose you could give me that address. He left one of his briefcases, and you know, I can’t seem to get ahold of him.”

“I can come and get it, honey.”

“No, no, please don’t worry yourself. You know how Mom and Dad will be. They’ll assume I messed something up, and I only want to help a friend. You know, my boss.” It was kind of a lie, but not completely. “I only want to help.” Again, not a total lie, but she could not continue to sit around the house waiting for him to return.

Without any other questions, Malcolm gave her the address, to which she thanked him and then hung up.

Anna-Beth didn’t waste a single moment, and made her way toward the front door. She could drive but instead called a cab, making her way down the long driveway toward the exit. Once she was past the gate, she closed it.

She’d be back before the end of the day. All she wanted to do was clear the air between her and George and make things right again. It was all she could hope for.

The cab arrived, and she didn’t quite know what happened to the time as she climbed into the back of the car and then rode all the way into the city. She stared out at the scenery.

Part of her didn’t want the drive to end, but as the driver pulled up outside an apartment building she’d given him, she paid him and climbed out. Before she’d even taken a step away from the cab, he was gone.

Staring up at the apartment building, she knew there was no chance of surprising him. She stepped inside and smiled toward the man at the main desk. She asked for George Butterworth, and he had no choice but to call up. The man kept looking at her with suspicion.
