“Fuck yeah,” I reply.

“That box looks really fucking heavy. Is it heavy?” Derek asks Travis, who growls at him. “Oh, fuck. That was hot,” Derek adds.

“Maybe you should pick one up like the rest of us,” Gary tells him. Gary, Travis, and Derek agreed to help Hayden get moved in. Well, Gary and Travis are helping. Derek is telling us how heavy shit looks while he walks around saying he’s too pretty to sweat unless he’s having sex.

It was just two days ago that Hayden showed up to meet me and discuss moving in. Two days since I realized he’s one of the guys I almost fucked a few months back before his boyfriend started yelling and losing his shit. Travis had said his ex was a bastard, but I have a feeling he doesn’t realize how big of a dickhead he is. Not that I don’t understand changing your mind. Having a threesome isn’t for everyone, but what I don’t get is taking it out on the person you are supposed to love, which he’d done.

Hayden had been mortified that night, not only because I was getting sent home with a case of blue balls, but because Lance made it all his fault.

“You guys got that done in no time flat,” Derek says as we each set down the last of Hayden’s boxes by the closet. His bed is in pieces on the other side of the room, his mattress leaning against the wall.

“No help from you,” Hayden tells him before he looks around the room. A small smile teases his mouth, and I’m glad to see him looking forward to this next adventure. Life can throw some big-ass curveballs at you sometimes. Been there, done that; only in the beginning, I didn’t take it quite as well as Hayden.

I guess that’s also because I was a teenager and my whole world had been turned upside down.

Little did I know that eventually, I’d realize it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I’m a big believer in everything happening for a reason, which is why I rolled with it when I realized who Hayden was.

“Do you need some help putting your bed together or anything?” Travis asks.

“On that note, I think I’ll go home. There’s a face mask and porn waiting for me.” Derek winks and then he’s walking out of the condo.

He’s like a mini-tornado, that one. It shocks the hell out of me that he and Gary are so close. I don’t know Hayden well enough to draw a conclusion there.

“No.” Hayden shakes his head. “I’m sure you guys have your own stuff to deal with. I appreciate you helping me get moved in. I think I’d like to do this part on my own.”

Gary walks over and gives him a hug good-bye. Travis gives me a nod as he waits for his boyfriend.

“You guys should put on a show later. I told Hayden that when you’re really into it, I can hear you fucking from my room,” I tease him, just because I like getting under Travis’s skin.

“What do you mean when I’m really into it? I’m always really into that ass.” He winks at me and yeah, he won that round.

“Come on, Superass. We have to get ready to meet Steven and Raymond.”

They’re a couple who invested in Travis’s business so he could get his own workplace. The four of them have become friends and get together often. It’s strange, seeing Travis so domesticated. His Superass tamed him well.

Gary tells me good-bye too before the two of them make their way out of the condo. When I hear the front door close, I turn to look at Hayden who has his arms crossed as his eyes dance around the room.

“You’re happy,” I tell him, not sure how I can tell that he is.

“Yeah…I mean, there’s still a part of me that’s devastated because of what happened with Lance, but this feels good. Getting my own place—well, renting a room, moving on.”

I like him, like that kind of thinking. “Good for you. So, you honestly wanna do this on your own, or can I help?” I ask.

Hayden shrugs. “Sure.”

We get busy putting the frame of his bed together. We’re only quiet a moment before I ask, “So, do you like it? Waiting tables at Mike’s? You seem like a people person.”

Hayden pushes his glasses up his nose, which I find sexy as hell. I’ve always dug a guy who wears glasses. The truth is, the night we met, I was definitely more interested in Hayden than I was Lance. Lance had been the first one I noticed, but once Hayden stepped up, my dick had gotten harder for him. Hayden likely couldn’t pick up on it because I know that’s a no-go in a three-way, especially when two of the three are a couple.
