“Homegrown tomatoes—there’s nothing like them. I’ll gladly look through those.”

If they were still here, Baer thought, then quickly knocked that notion away. Far as he was concerned, they’d be winning this war.

Wiley set one book down and picked up another. “The gardening spells are in this one. I didn’t pay a lot of attention to them because we really need all the spells to fight pestilents first. But I can look into what you’d need.” He glanced at Clay. “I can’t imagine you’d need spells, though. I saw you bring a flower back to life with just the touch of your finger.”

“I can only do it if there’s still life in them.”

“You’d rock having a garden. Oh, I saw another cool spell. Hold on and I’ll find it.”

They spent the next couple of hours going through the spell books, Wiley excitedly showing them everything he’d learned so far. He was really cute and in his element, obviously. Sexy in his confidence.

Baer couldn’t help but watch him, impressed with how smart and organized he was. When he was like this, it was hard to imagine he dealt with such a serious illness. Baer couldn’t help but admire him, and even though he was supposed to be going through the books with everyone else, his gaze strayed often to the man.

That night when they were getting ready for bed, Baer remembered his gift. He ran a hand over his whiskered chin, nervous about it now. “I got you something.”

“You did?” Wiley looked at the bag in Baer’s hand, so he held it out.

Wiley opened the bag and the box, before unwrapping the little glass animal. He held it up to the light, and the grin that stretched his lips made all Baer’s nerves disappear.

“I love this! It looks just like you did the first time I saw you.” He turned it in the light, looking over the cougar. “This is just perfect. Thank you.”

“I saw it and thought you might like it. It’s not one of your action figures, but I guessed it could take its place next to them.”

“To commemorate the day we met.” Wiley’s eyes were lit up. “You’re such a romantic, Baer Manning.”

“Not usually. Something about you brings that out in me.”

Wiley walked to the dresser and carefully set down the glass figurine, then turned and jumped into Baer’s arms.

Baer caught him, staggering back a couple of steps, glad he was strong enough to hang on to the smaller man. And damn, but Wiley felt good in his arms. He tightened them and carried Wiley to the bed where he turned and flopped, bringing Wiley on top of him. Wiley kissed him and things quickly heated up, their tongues sliding along each other. Next thing he knew, Wiley was kissing his neck and running his hands up under Baer’s T-shirt.

The zero-to-sixty had Baer’s head spinning, but he didn’t care. He quickly tugged off his shirt, his eyes flaring open wide when Wiley went for the fly of his jeans. The man had them undone and tugged down so fast, Baer blinked. He was hard in seconds. Wiley pulled down his underwear.

Then his dick was in Wiley’s mouth.

“Oh fuck,” he groaned as he leaned his head back and shut his eyes. The man was excellent at this. Wiley licked and kissed the head, running his tongue around the glans before dipping it into his slit. Baer shivered and threaded his fingers through Wiley’s soft, blond hair. Wiley took the whole thing into his mouth and sucked. Baer worked to not shout, so everyone wouldn’t know what they were doing.

Not that he really cared.

All he cared about was how good Wiley felt swallowing his dick. Lust poured through him like molten lava, making his muscles heavy. He stroked his fingers through that fine hair, then down to feel where his cock disappeared into Wiley’s mouth. Wiley’s skin was smooth and sexy, his mouth warm, his throat tight. He let Baer into his throat over and over, the clasp so good, Baer thought he was going to lose his mind. He slid in gently, thrusting up when Wiley groaned and clasping his hips with tight fingers. Wiley gagged.

Baer wanted to apologize, but he was incapable of words. All he could do was feel as Wiley licked and sucked, wrapping one hand around the base of his cock to stroke along with his suction. He used his other hand to fondle Baer’s balls, his slender fingers feeling so good along his sensitive flesh. One finger slipped back to touch his asshole and Baer shuddered and quaked. Before he could warn Wiley, he was erupting into his mouth. The orgasm the guy wrung from him stole all his brain cells and rushed through his whole body. He held Wiley’s head as he finished, bowing up until his own head wasn’t that far from Wiley’s. Then he collapsed, lying sprawled on the bed.
