The door opens up and I almost swallow my tongue at the sight before me. My girl is wearing some sort of silky half-robe that barely brushes her upper thighs and leaves very little to the imagination.

Not that my fucking imagination needs much goddamn help. “You’re early,” Radley grumbles and steps back for me to follow her into the room. “I need just a few minutes to finish getting ready.”

“Don’t change on my account.” I have to fight the urge to throw her little ass down on the bed and find out for myself what she’s wearing under that tiny scrap of nothing.

“Ha-ha, Mr. Funny.” She rolls her eyes before stepping into the bathroom. “Have a seat and I’ll hurry up.”

I sit in the chair across from the bed and stare at the ceiling, willing my cock to calm the fuck down. I learned a hard lesson during the last two and a half weeks, and I refuse to risk fucking everything up by rushing things with my girl.

“Can you zip me?” She walks over to me and turns around for me to reach the zipper on the back of her silky black sheath dress.

I slowly slide the zipper up, watching as goosebumps break out along her spine, and feel relief knowing she is just as affected by me. “I love this dress,” I tell her. “But you’d be fucking gorgeous wearing a goddamn paper bag.”

“Thank you.” She turns to me and beams. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”

“Let’s get to the restaurant before I decide to skip the food and make a meal out of you.” I take her hand and lead her out of the hotel room.

She glances up at me with an impish smile and asks, “Is that option on the table?”

Fuck me. My little spitfire is going to keep me on my toes.

CHAPTER NINE

Since the weather is beautiful and Broadway Steakhouse is only a block away, we walk hand-in-hand to the restaurant.

When we step into the darkened restaurant, the hostess walks over and smiles. “Do you have a reservation?”

“Yes, Owen Wild.” I hug my girl close and wait for them to show us to our table.

Once we’re seated and have given our waitress our drink orders, I reach across the table and take my spitfire’s hand. “How are things going with your plans for your music school?”

“You know about that?” Her gorgeous eyes narrow.

“I had an investigator look for you after you disappeared.” There won’t be any secrets between us. “He managed to find you from your ties to my brother, and your plans came up in his investigation.”

“Oh.” She bites her bottom lip, and my cock turns to stone in my dress pants. “Well, I’ve secured funding for the project, and I have an appointment with my realtor tomorrow. We’re going to look at a couple locations that might work.”

Our waitress walks over, sets our drinks on the table in front of us, and takes our order before quickly disappearing again.

“Who’s your realtor?”

“Kat Clayton.” I’ve heard of the popular realtor, but I don’t know much about her. I make a mental note to have Giant check her out.

“Do you need any help looking over the locations?” I offer while mentally rearranging my schedule again.

“You want to come with me?”

“Of course, I want to come.” Keeping her safe is my top priority. “I have quite a bit of experience with real estate. I might be helpful to you.”

“I’m meeting Kat at her office at nine am. It would be great to have another set of eyes checking out the locations.”

“I’ll be there.” I smile at my girl and take a sip of my whiskey. Since I intend to spend the night with Radley wrapped in my arms, I figure we’ll go to the appointment together.

“Since you already know all about me, why don’t you tell me about yourself.” My spitfire sits back in her seat.

“Well…” I rub my bottom lip, wondering where to start. “You probably already know most of it from Justice.”

“Justice isn’t very forthcoming with information, and I want to hear it from you.”

Where to start? I jump in at the very beginning. “Our parents were killed in a car accident twenty years ago. I was twenty-four at the time and, as the oldest, raising my younger brothers fell upon my shoulders.”

“I knew your parents died, but I had no idea you raised your brothers.”

“I didn’t have a choice.” I actually did, but there was no way I’d let my brothers end up in foster care. “Once everyone was grown, I left town and moved to New York to be an investment banker. Asher, who’s two years younger than me, stayed in Peach Springs to run the family farm. Fletcher, the next one down from Asher, is a cop in our hometown. Then we have Justice, who you already know. After him is Colton, the stuntman in the family, and finally is Beau, the youngest.”
