Slade steps toward him. “You’re fucking lying to yourself.”

Damian spins around, shoulders tight and jaw raised. “The fuck did you just say?”

“You heard me, man. You’re fucking lying to yourself. You’re into her. What’s the fucking problem? Was she not down to fuck around the way you like? Was she too good? Too easy? Too fucking wild? What gives?”

Damian steps up into Slade and pushes him back a step. “Don’t fucking talk about her like that,” Damian spits, forcing me to my feet. I slowly creep forward as Damian steps into Slade again. “You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. We can’t all have it easy like you two. She practically fell into your lap and was begging to suck your dick, even after the bullshit you put her through.”

Slade straightens. “Watch it,” he growls low. “This ain’t about me and Sky. You’re the one on blast here. What crawled up your ass? If you’re not fucking into her, then why are you being so defensive? Rachel was just some bitch you were fucking and you couldn’t give a shit what anyone said about her. Why is Nessa any different?”

“I’m not being fucking defensive. Who the fuck do you think you are? You might be some big fucking hot shot at school. You’re so fucking used to people bowing at your feet and kissing your ass but not here, not me. You can’t just demand to know what the fuck is going on with me and Nessa and expect me to come running with answers.”

“Knock it off.” I push myself between the boys, feeling like a fucking idiot as they tower over me. Hell, I doubt they even realize I’m here, even with my hands pressed tightly against their chests.

Slade narrows his eyes as though he’s figured something out. “You’ve got no fucking clue, do you?”

“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” Damian throws back at him.

Slade takes my hand and removes it off his chest, not daring to break eye contact with Damian, “The hell I do,” he says, stepping around me and blocking me out. “It’s the same bullshit you said to me when Sky first got here. That I was fucking scared that I was going to feel something.”

Something snaps behind Damian’s eyes and within seconds, Slade is pushing me back a few steps as Damian’s fist goes flying through the air. Slade flinches just in time to miss his face, but it doesn’t save his shoulder from taking the brunt of Damian’s punch.

Slade is quick to retaliate and before I even have a chance to catch up with what’s going on, fists are flying and they’re on the ground, refusing to give in.

“Hey,” I scream, running at them and being careful not to get clocked by someone’s elbow. I throw myself at Slade’s back and he grunts with either my weight or Damian’s fist in his ribs. “Stop it, you fucking idiots.”

“Get off me,” Slade growls. “You’re going to get hurt.”

I slam my elbow down into the soft spot at the base of his neck but he doesn’t relent, determined to see this through with Damian. “I’ll fucking stop when you two do.”

Without skipping a beat, Slade reaches around himself, grabs hold of my arm and tears me off his back, still managing to hold off Damian while making sure I don’t stumble down to my ass. The second he sees that I’ve got my balance, he releases me and lets his fist fly.

I resist kicking both of them in the shins and retreat to my bench. I guess this is just one of those instances where the saying ‘boys will be boys’ comes into play. Judging by the stories I’ve heard, this isn’t their first fight and I’m sure as hell it’s not going to be their last. They just need to deal with it in their own way and once all of this is done, I’ll be sure to make them patch their own dumb asses back up.

Freaking boys. How fucking stupid can they be? They’re best friends. If they don’t like what the other has to say, then walk away. Fuck, if I tried to knock out Nessa every time she threw shade at me, she’d be in a constant state of unconsciousness.

I sit back and watch with a pissed off scowl. Their bullshit seems to go on forever and I don’t know whether it’s my anxiety that’s making this moment drag out or if it’s the fact that I don’t like seeing either of the boys getting hurt. Either way, it has my mind on something else other than Lucien’s disappearance and for that I’m grateful.

Damian finally falls back onto his hands, huffing and puffing as Slade does the same. Both of them with fat lips, red markings across their skin and split brows. I scowl at them both. “Are you fucking done?”
