Rule 3. There will be punishments, harsh ones.

Rule 4. Once you sign, you’ll be property of the Morettis.

Rule 5. Relinquish all control over to me. I will own you.

$1, 000, 000 will be transferred to your bank account. If I receive your message and you agree, you’ll get a text message from me with your first instruction. Disobey and this ends here and you’ll never see me again.

Last night, I sent him a message as instructed for my acceptance of his contract. Hence my email to my brother this morning with my resignation attached. It might be stupid to do this, but something about this man, his offer, and everything he’s capable of draws me in. He’s a hunter and I’m the prey caught in his feral jaws.

As I sip my coffee, I wonder what will happen once Andrea reads my email. There’ll be hell to pay, but to be free of him is something I’ve prayed for. To have security, but to be able to continue my studies, is a dream come true. Franco is offering that to me. And I want it. I want him.

“Hey, chickadee.” Spinning around, I find my best friend with her sweet smile watching me intently. “Care to tell me about the mystery man you’ve been daydreaming about these past few days? Is it the one from the bar undressing you with his eyes two nights ago?” she quips, her hip resting on the kitchen counter as she sips her coffee.

“In all honesty, there’s nothing to tell, yet. All he did was offer me a job.” I shrug, hoping she’ll drop it because I don’t want to talk about it. Not that there’s much to say because I don’t know what exactly is in store for me.

“A job, wow,” she murmurs, watching me with dark eyes. “Come on, I know you’re hiding shit.” She pouts and I can’t help giggling. There’s no way I can tell her what he made me do. Or that he still has a pair of my sexiest panties in his possession.

“It’s my first day, and at this stage I have no idea what to expect. He gave me an idea of what I’ll be doing, but he also said I will need to live on the property.” I gulp the last of my coffee and place the mug in the sink.

“Why would you need to live there?” Her question is something I’ve been wondering for two days. The longest forty-eight hours of my life. Hopefully, I’ll have my answers soon enough.

“Once I know, you’ll know,” I remark with a shrug.

“Fine. But since your cousin is head over heels for Giovanni, I think I need to meet the other brother. Apparently Gio has a twin, and I’m so ready to see how Italians do it.” She sighs dramatically. “Just make sure you give me all the dirty deets.”

“I’ll tell you if I meet the other brother.” Shaking my head, I head into my bedroom before she can give me more of the third degree. I’m pulling my hair into a clip when my phone buzzes on the nightstand with the soft melody of a pop song I’m addicted to. Swiping my thumb over the screen, the message opens immediately.

No panties. No bra. Leave your hair down. The car is outside.

A shiver of excitement races down my spine. With a mischievous smile, I lift my skirt and shove the white panties down my thighs, tossing them into the laundry basket. Quickly unhooking my bra from underneath my top, I manage to pull the straps through the sleeves and out from the bottom of my shirt. My nipples harden at the cool air and my pussy tingles from being bare.

Grabbing my purse, keys, and phone, I race out the door, shouting a goodbye to Adria as I shut the apartment and run down the two flights of stairs. As he said, there’s a sleek black Aston Martin sitting in the parking lot. The windows are dark and I can’t see inside. Before I have time to really take it in, the older man who I recognize from the bar when he joined Franco for a drink gets out and rounds the rear of the vehicle.

“Hello, Mr. DeLuca,” I greet with a shy smile.

“Good morning, Miss Lombardi.” He offers a grin and opens the back door, allowing me to slip into the back seat. When I do, I find it empty. Without another word, I’m shut inside and moments later, making my way to the first day of work for the Morettis.

I have no way to know what it will entail, but the flurry of hummingbirds in my stomach tells me I’m in for something I’ve been craving my whole life. As the car weaves through the Los Angeles traffic, my mind recalls the last time I saw Franco and he offered me a job.
