“I really wanna give you a blowjob right now. Is that okay?”

He throws his head back and laughs. And then he quickly sobers and gives me a look I’ve already come to recognize. It means, “About now would be good.”

“Hey Riley?” I call out, walking my fingers up his chest.

It’s nighttime and we’re in bed, snuggled up. We just made love. For the fourth time today.

“Give me five minutes. I might not be a mere mortal but I’m also not a machine.”

I laugh. “You’re off the hook until tomorrow. I um… do you want to know how many kids my sister thinks we’ll have?”

“How many?” he asks, voice very serious.

“Four,” I whisper, feeling choked up. Happy. So, so happy.

He rolls over and attacks me, seeming very, very happy about that. Guess he didn’t need a break after all.

Coming back from an extra-long morning run with Joel and Jase, I catch a potpourri of Young scents before I even spot the big, white cube van that’s backed in. Behind my truck is Rikki’s hippie van and behind the cube van, a green Land Rover.

“They’re here pretty fucking early,” Joel notes. “A sign of coming days with the new in-laws?”

Jase shudders.

I chuckle, not minding in the least. I’m a morning person. So’s my mate. She woke with me and the sun this morning after fucking half the night and was singing that song about sex and candy while making coffee in my kitchen when I headed out the door for my run.

I’m not surprised her family’s here early, though figuring where they come from, they had to have gotten to The Hollow last night.

We get to my driveway and Jase’s nose is twitching.

I give him a curious look.

He says, “Never smelled so many witches at once.”

Joel’s here after walking past the cut-off toward his own house since he had plans to go to Jase’s up the street and around the bend. Jase recruited him to move some furniture over there today.

I resisted the urge to tease Jase that he’s nesting like a she-wolf. I didn’t tease because I know he’s already all up in his head over it. He looks spooked, but he wants his place ready for when he brings in a female, so he’s already cleared the nudie mags and car calendars out of the joint and he’s having his mother and sister clean it later today after Joel helps him move some shit around.

Linc moved out yesterday; he’s now setting up temporary digs in the one empty apartment out of the three above Roxy’s bar and thinking about building his own house. Ty told him he’s welcome to stay with his mate when it happens in the cabin since being above Roxy’s when it happens might fuck with Linc. Wolf shifters typically den with their new mates out of the way. Old possessiveness instincts. And Cade has one apartment up there, Roxy the other, so that’d likely fuck with him.

He wants something deep in the patch of forest on Chariot Lake between Mason’s place and Savage House where Tyson lives. He asked Mase to design a place for him and all of us to help build it.

I got a message to the surveillance room last night to give them the heads up that four Young sisters and their elderly aunt were coming today. I also told my mate to tell her family to check in at the gas bar so Cicely can converse with the control room, but I don’t know if Cicely’s open yet.

Since they’re already here, it’s a good thing we’re all dressed due to the code orange around here. When life settles down, these Young witches will have to get used to shifter nudity when they visit.

“You guys are obviously coming to say hey, right?” I ask, because they’re both following me up my driveway.

“Starved. Gonna be food?” Jase asks.

“We can whip up some grub. Might want your help unloading this truck, though.”

“Works for me,” Jase says.

“I’ll help,” Joel agrees. “Plannin’ on spending the day helping him move shit around anyhow. And he probably doesn’t have any food in his house.”

“Probably not,” Jase agrees. “But I’ll buy at Roxy’s after.”

“Works for me. Breakfast here, dinner at Roxy’s,” Joel shrugs.

We follow the sound of laughter into the back yard where five beauties and their aunt are all hanging out. The patio table has an open box of donuts, a pot of coffee and a teapot I’ve never seen before – it’s a big ceramic mouse wearing a skirt.

“That witch is so toxic, if she saged her house she’d wake up outside,” the blonde witch I’ve already met says, and they all laugh together.

“Hey,” I greet.

All gazes move my way.

I go straight to my mate who’s the only one not at the table. She’s sitting cross-legged on the grass beside the patio set, a fat black and white cow-patterned cat in her lap.
