Taking one, I shut the door and grabbed a spoon from the drawer, the bittersweet scent of chocolate teasing me. The first bite had my eyes closing in bliss. The dark chocolate was decadent, the sweet just balancing out the bitter, a hint of orange giving each bite depth and the most divine fragrance. Everything in me sighed with happiness.

“You do realize you’re eating tomorrow’s dessert?”

My eyes fluttered open, Finn’s voice weaving through my chocolate haze, warm and amused. He was close, only feet away, watching me in the dark, his lips curved in a half smile.

I should apologize. Heat flushed my cheeks, but no words left my mouth. Finn paced closer, reaching out to pluck the delicate glass bowl from my hand along with the spoon. I took a step back. Not enough.

“I—” That was all I got out. Finn popped the spoon in my mouth, his eyes heating as my lips closed around it, the dense, decadent chocolate melting on my tongue, my senses drowning.

“Chocolate Pots de Crème. One of the first things Chef Guérard taught me.”

Another step closer. Another spoonful sliding between my lips. I jolted as my back hit the cold metal door of the fridge. My eyes tracked up to Finn’s, his gaze shadowed in the dim light.

Finn fed me another spoonful. Then another. I let my lids fall shut, cutting off my sight, savoring, avoiding Finn’s eyes that saw too much, even in the dark.

Glass clicked on wood. My eyes flashed open to see Finn turning back to me, the empty dish on the island, his hands free to close over my hips, pressing me to the refrigerator at my back. Despite his hold, I could have moved.

I could have.

I didn’t.

I watched him, his head dipping to mine, his mouth at my ear.

“You smell like chocolate,” he murmured. “I wonder how you’ll taste?”

I would have sworn I hated Finn Sawyer. He was the last man I’d ever want to kiss. Once was more than enough.

I was a liar. I didn’t think I wanted Finn to kiss me, but when he did, I didn’t want him to stop.

I thought I’d forgotten what it was like. It had only happened that once, so many years ago. I’d built it up in my head, the overblown emotions of a teenage girl making that kiss into something it wasn’t.

I’d been wrong. About everything.

Finn’s hands closed over my hips, pinning me to the cold metal door, and his lips traced my jaw, sending shivers feathering over my skin. Lungs tight, I parted my lips for a breath, and he was there, his mouth on mine, tongue stroking.

The last time, he’d demanded. This time he seduced. Still, it was the same. I drowned in him, head tipping back, my mouth seeking his. I wasn’t aware of lifting my hands, sinking my fingers into his hair, opening to his kiss.

He surrounded me, and I let him. A whimper reached my ear, and I realized it was me. Finn’s hands slid from my hips, one arm wrapping around my waist, dragging me closer, the other slipping beneath my sweater, the callus of his palm a delicious scrape up my side. Strong fingers closed around my bare breast, the heat of him scalding. My body was beyond my control, my hips rolling into his as I rose on my toes, kissing him back, feasting on his mouth, arching my back to press my breast into his hand.

Abruptly, he stepped back, taking me with him. I would have lost my balance if not for the arm around my waist. My feet left the ground and I was sitting on the island, just like I had ten years ago, Finn between my spread legs, his mouth on my neck, nipping and biting as my head fell back, offering him everything.

He shoved my sweater up, baring my breasts, filling his hands, and lowering his head. Bracing myself on my palms, I leaned back, eyes closed, sinking into the spiky bliss of his mouth sucking, pulling, teasing, the pleasure so sharp it almost hurt. My body had been in stasis, so long untouched I’d forgotten what this felt like. Maybe I’d never known. I didn’t remember it being like this, so much sensation my brain spun. All could do was feel.

The heat of his breath, the fierce suck of his mouth on my nipple, the silk of his thick hair sliding across my skin. My legs circled his waist, drawing him in, the length of his erection so hard between my legs, my ancient leggings no barrier against him. Every nerve in my body strung tight, and I was floating in sensation. Instinct drove me to rock into him, rolling my clit against the firm pressure of his cock, the fabric between us irrelevant. The rush of pleasure was more than I could take.
