Which only makes her more merciless on my prostate and oh my fucking God it makes my back spasm as I come harder than I ever have in my whole fucking life.

I’m still jacking into her slick hand long after all the cum is spent.

And I feel reborn.

Chapter 43

JANUS

The sun is shining in the park today. Hope’s long auburn hair catches the rays, but it’s her smile that’s radiant as she chases after the toddlers.

Paul squeals and chases after Diana, who giggles and hides behind one of the thick columns of the play structure.

There’s a toddler-sized one over to the side, but the kids never seem interested in it. Paul always likes to play chase around the big-kid one.

Their little legs pump so fast. Occasionally one of them ends up face-first on the soft bouncy surface. Paul always wails for Mommy when that happens. Diana just pushes her little butt in the air to get back to her feet and then continues running, giggling the whole way.

Paul runs around the column she was hiding behind and they chase each other round and round until he grabs her coat and they both go tumbling down.

I stand up from the nearby bench but Hope’s already there, helping them back up. Paul’s crying a little, but I’ve learned his different cries. This is his performative one. Where he just feels like he should cry because he fell down.

Diana puts her little arm around him and she babbles away at him in their twin language. Paul looks over at her, his features still twisted in his crying face.

Then Diana takes off again, towards one of the little bouncy horses on a spring. She loves those things. And it works too, because Paul immediately forgets about crying and is running to get on the one beside her.

They both need a little help to get on them, which Hope provides. “Hold on tight,” she reminds them.

Paul grins like a little demon as he starts to rock his body back and forth to make the horsey “Go!” Another one of his recognizable words.

I stand up and walk over to Hope. I put my arm over her shoulder as Diana holds onto the little pegs and giggles when her horsey starts to move too, though not nearly as raucously as her brothers.

“I think we’ve done all right by them.” She turns to smile that absolutely heart-stopping smile at me.

I nod.

“Yeah?”

I squeeze her shoulder, then rub it. “Super yeah.”

“How do you think the guys are doing?” she asks.

Leander took Milo to go shopping so he could get a new wardrobe. We kept all his old clothes, of course, but he’s lost so much weight they hang off him. Plus, he’s changed. He never seems to wear the pieces that still fit him anyway. He kept saying they’re too stiff and uncomfortable. Instead he borrows the guys’ loungewear. So Leander decided it was time to go buy him some new stuff of his own.

“I think Milo’s probably uncomfortable as fuck with all the places Leander’s dragging him.”

Hope laughs hard at that.

“But they’ll figure it out in the end.”

“Off!” Paul is suddenly demanding.

Hope walks back over and lifts him off of the horsey. Then Paul stands in front of Diana who’s still happily bouncing away. “Off!” he demands again, pointing to the ground beside him.

“Honey, if your sister still wants to ride—” Hope starts to say, but Diana reaches one arm out to Hope while she’s still swaying, one hand still holding onto the grip peg.

Hope just shakes her head and rolls her eyes, but lifts Diana off too.

Then Paul grabs his sister’s hand and the pair of them run off together.

My chest squeezes in on itself watching them all. This is shit out of a dream for me. What I always wanted.

So what am I gonna do with Leander’s proposal to take over the acting gig?

Gemini wrapped last season, at least, and it went out with a bang. It won the Emmy for best drama series. The Leander Mavros name is hotter than ever. Scripts pour in every day. It’s mine for the taking.

So why do I hesitate?

“Mommy!” Paul calls, pointing at the big kid’s slide.

I grin. That kid. Always wanting to climb the tallest mountain he can find even though he’s barely managed walking and talking.

I hurry over. We’ve become a good duo at this. I lift him up off the ground. He still feels like he weighs nothing—more bulky jacket than anything else. His little legs kick delightedly in the air before I finally settle him at the top of the slide.

Hope takes position at the bottom.

“Ready?” I ask.

A silly question, obviously.

“Go!” Paul cries.

I let go and he uses his hands on the slide’s smooth surface to propel himself down it. He screeches the whole way as the wind sends his hair flying.
