He looked scared. For me. His pedestal was cemented firmly on the ground.

I handed it to him. “I don’t need it.”

The relief on his face made me smile. “You sure?”

I nodded, and he let out a relieved sigh, then placed it on the table. I watched the way the muscles in his back moved and flexed as he did it.

Gran had always said men only wanted one thing. She’d never seen a man like Levi because he made women only want one thing.

Coming from the garage, Huck walked into the room with a cigar in his mouth and sat down in the leather chair I was beginning to realize was his. He always sat there.

“We gonna watch this movie now, or are we gonna wait on some more people?” Kye asked. His bicep brushed my shoulder; he was sitting so close to me.

“We’re all here,” Trinity replied, going over to take her place in Huck’s lap.

The lights went out, and the movie started. Levi’s arm went around the back of the sofa. He reached down and pulled me closer to him, then left his hand to rest on my shoulder. I wasn’t brushed up against Kye anymore. Levi had pulled me almost on top of him. This was going to make watching the movie difficult. I wanted to bury my face in his chest and inhale. His thumb began to rub a small circle around my arm, and I shivered.

“You cold?” he whispered.

I nodded, needing an excuse for my reaction.

He grabbed a blanket from the other side of him and put it over me. “Better?”

“Yes. Thank you.”

The way he was holding me made it almost impossible for me not to rest my head on his chest. I decided if he didn’t want me to, then he shouldn’t have pulled me up against him like this. When I gave in and let my head ease down to lie on him, he didn’t flinch.

Managing to relax, I focused on the movie. That was, until his fingertips began to trace small patterns on my thigh. Nope. No concentration now. My body was definitely humming with tingles on every surface. I tried to remember to breathe normally.

When one of his fingers slipped under my knee, I jerked. His hand clamped down on my leg to keep me from moving.

“Are you ticklish?” he asked me, talking low in my ear.

“Yes,” I replied.

A deep chuckle vibrated in his chest, and I smiled. This was nice. It wasn’t wild, eat you up kinda stuff, like what happened with the other two couples, but it was more than I’d ever expected to experience. His hand stopped moving, and eventually, I was able to watch the movie again.

I felt my eyes getting heavy after a while. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the movie—I did—but Levi was warm, and it made me feel secure. Eventually, I gave in.

“I’m going to Devil’s. I need to see tits and fuck.” Kye’s voice woke me, but I kept my eyes closed. “You want to take her up and go with me?”

I held my breath. I wished I hadn’t woken up to hear this conversation.

“Not tonight,” Levi whispered.

“Yeah, I probably wouldn’t either,” Kye replied.

“Don’t.” Levi’s tone was hard.

“What? She’s fucking hot. That’s all I’m saying.”

“Stop looking.”

Kye laughed. “Okay.”

Levi moved then, and I opened my eyes, seeing it was still dark in the room.

“Come on. Let’s get you to bed,” he said, scooping me up.

I started to tell him I could walk, but I liked that he could hold me like this. I cuddled against him, soaking in his smell and the way his muscles moved and flexed as he walked.

“You’re clingy,” Levi said to me. “Did you have a bad dream?”

I looked up at him. God, he was gorgeous. I wanted to run my hand over his face, feel his lips, lick them. Why did I want to lick him all the time? Where had that even come from?

“No,” I whispered.

He glanced down before opening the door to his bedroom. “You want me to go get your pajamas?” he asked, laying me down on the bed.

I glanced down at my blue jean shorts and halter top.

“I can go get them,” I said, starting to get up.

He opened a drawer and pulled out a T-shirt. “Just wear this. It’ll cover more than those PJs of yours.”

I picked up the shirt, and he headed for the bathroom. Once he closed the door, I stood and took off my shorts and top, then slid the shirt over my head. It hit a little past mid-thigh. Climbing back in the bed, I pulled the covers up to my chin.

Levi still hadn’t mentioned me going back to the other room to sleep. It had been weeks now, and I was still in his bed. As much as I didn’t want to give this up, I felt guilty about invading his space. I should probably try sleeping in the other room again. I just didn’t want to. But what if he wanted me to? Ugh. I buried my face in the pillow and wished I didn’t like him so much. At least not like this.
