I couldn’t get my eyes off those lips rubbing against my dick. There was no limit to the arousal filling me. In another minute or so, it would be bursting out of my pores and claiming us both.

She paused and stared at me. “What?”

“Nothing.”

“Are you down?”

“Yes.”

She smiled. “Do you even know what you’re agreeing to?”

“No.”

She kissed the tip again. “The sage.”

I gripped the sheets next to my hand and stifled a groan. “Yes. . .sage. . .burning things.”

“Yes.” And then she sucked me into her mouth again, pushing me back into that haze that our relationship had been born in. I swam in her, and she was a hot, liquid sensation pulsing around every inch of me.

I couldn’t figure out how she didn’t melt the fuck out of that ice man. She was surely melting me, liquefying all the cold and sadness down to nothing.

Where I’d been empty, she’d filled it with her love. Where she’d torn parts of my soul, she’d stitched it up with those soft moans. Where I’d been free of movement and will, she’d attached puppet strings to my arms and legs.

I would walk in her step, go where she led, and do whatever it was that she needed me to do.

She took all of me into her mouth, and all I could do was drown in Faith and her madness.

I can’t remember what she wants me to burn, but I’ll fucking burn this whole damn town for her.

Chapter 16

Daniel

W

e must’ve made love for hours.

When we finished, Faith passed out in my arms and I barely wanted to get up. But I made sure, I did and hurried to put my clothes back on.

After checking my phone and seeing that her mother still hadn’t returned my calls, I packed a couple of things, probably lingering in the panty drawer for too long.

Wow. She has a lot of panties.

I didn’t go all out for boxer briefs. I had a few colors and bought new ones all the time. Faith had a rainbow of every color, every cut, every fabric.

You just had sex with her, why are you playing with her underwear?

I tossed a bunch of them into a bag. Coincidentally, the chosen panties were all tiny, silky, and bright red. I hoped she found those the most comfortable. If not, she damn sure didn’t have to wear any in my cabin. Personally, she didn’t have to get out of the bed if she didn’t want to. I’d serve her. I’d bathe her. I’d fucking cook and clean and carry her to the bathtub I would fill for her.

Yeah. She pussy-whipped me.

I went to her closet and opened the doors. The view hit me. It was that subtle reminder that the woman that I’d fallen in love with didn’t have all her senses. A pile of torn and ripped designer suits sat on the floor.

These must be Brett’s suits.

It looked like she took her time, shredding them apart. Old, wrinkled photos were crumbled on the side.

Note. Don’t cheat on Faith. Ever.

I found her some jeans and couple of sweaters. The sneakers were next. I shoved all of that into the bag and tip toed downstairs. Faith needed this rest. She wanted to sage the house and do all these other things. I wasn’t sure about all of that.

This was Addie Mae’s territory. If anybody knew how to get rid of this ice man, it would be her.

I put out the fire in her living room, loaded the car, washed the tea cups, turned off the lights in the kitchen, and headed back upstairs.

Terror hit me as soon as I got to the top level and spotted Faith’s bedroom door open and that damn window opened too.

No!

I raced to the room, not ready for what to expect. That piece of crap could’ve been in there, bothering her. Or. . .even scarier. . .

No!

Faith wasn’t in the bed.

She was gone.

I went to the window, leaned out, and screamed, “Faith?! Faith?!”

Silence and cracking snow met my ears. There was no one out there, not even those damn ice sculptures. Her and this Remy had gone.

I stopped in the center of the room and doubled over. “No. No. No.”

Faith left. She’d disappeared.

If I believed the unbelievable, an ice man had come alive and taken her away.

If I considered knowledge and left all that hoodoo stuff alone, then she’d woken up, gone crazy, and climbed out of the window, naked.

Again.

If I’d been smart, I would’ve never left her alone in the first place.

“No. No. No.” I paced back and forth. “What the fuck?”

She’d just been in my goddamn arms, warm and soft. Moaning and slipping against me.

Why hadn’t I stayed in the bed!? It would’ve been okay, if I’d just stayed my ass in the bed and let the snow storm around us. But no. . .I had to be the good guy, go pack her things, and clean up her house.
