Spencer felt drunk he was flying so high. He was naked except for the spectacular piece of jewelry on his left wrist that he couldn’t stop staring at.

Cole dozed in and out, and Spencer tried to lie still so as not to disturb him, but Cole must’ve been a light sleeper because he cracked his eyes open if Spencer let out a sigh.

They lay there in each other’s arms until the sound of the countdown to the new year could be heard through his walls.

Cole propped himself on his elbow and cupped Spencer’s cheek. “Happy New Year, gorgeous.”

Spencer kissed him in response because he was going to be more than happy this year.

After the noise upstairs settled, Cole’s stomach growled loud enough to frighten them.

“Sorry. I guess I skipped breakfast, lunch… damn, and dinner.”

“I’m a lousy host. When you walked through the door, all I wanted was your dick inside of me. I didn’t even think to offer you a bottle of water.” Spencer winked. “And I have no food prepared.”

“You can attack my dick anytime I come through the door. Trust me, I won’t complain.” Cole kissed him on his lower jaw. “And don’t worry about feeding me because I happen to know where the best IHOP in the world is. Come on, let’s go eat.”

“Did you say IHOP, seriously?” Spencer laughed again. “I’ve never heard of a billionaire eating there.”

Cole grinned. “Good pancakes are good pancakes, Spence.”

“Wow.”

“I’ll tell you what wow is.” Cole grazed his fingers over Spencer’s pecs. “Last month, I was praying the holidays would just hurry up and come and go. Now… I’m hoping it never ends.”

“Imagine what tomorrow will bring,” Spencer whispered, kissing the inside of Cole’s palm.

“You talk just like a writer.”

Cole pinched his ass, making him yelp. “Come on, get up. I want my first meal of the new year to be with you… with my lover.”

Spencer fingered his bracelet, the piece already becoming a source of comfort for him. “I’d like that. Very much.”

Cole pecked him on his forehead before he got out of bed. “We better get going. It might take us a minute to get there, and I’m starving.”

“There where? And what’s the rush?” Spencer asked, confused. “They’re open twenty-four hours. I think we have plenty of time.”

“Just get dressed, beautiful,” Cole urged, yanking his slacks on. “I’ll text Axel to bring the car around.”

“Geez. Can I at least take a shower first?” Spencer joked, feeling lighter than he had in years.

“Sure. Make it quick though. I’m already thinking of their steak and eggs.”

Cole grabbed his arm when he walked by and yanked him in for another scorching kiss that escalated fast.

Spencer was close to dropping to his knees when Cole spun him around and popped him on his ass.

“All right, all right, I’m going.” Spencer went across the hall and turned the shower on. “Where is this perfect IHOP anyway. Which street?”

“Um, Thirty-Fourth Street, around the corner from my house… in Midtown West Manhattan.”

Cole came into the bathroom and kissed Spencer’s slack mouth.

“New traditions, remember? Just me and you.”

Spencer nodded, swallowing back his emotions. “Me and you.”
