“Breathe, baby,” he murmurs, leading us away from the raging waters as his hand moves up and down my back, making sure he didn’t push me too far. “Slow, deep breaths.”

“I’m okay,” I promise him, overwhelmed by the concern lingering in his deep tone, and despite how close I came to drowning in that waterfall, I know he wouldn’t have let that happen. He’s the fiercest killer across the globe, and yet I trust him implicitly. He’d sooner lay his own life down before letting mine falter. But that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to push boundaries. And fuck, these are boundaries I didn’t realize I wanted to cross.

Reaper walks us right over to the edge of the pool, and I unwind my body from his before draping myself over the edge and turning back to take in the sheer beauty of the natural pool and the roaring waterfall that just violated me in such a glorious way.

I’ve been across the world, taking out targets in every corner of this magnificent planet, and despite everything I’ve seen, there’s no doubt that this right here is one of the most breathtaking places on earth.

I can’t tear my eyes away from it as Reaper hovers at my side, reaching out of the pool to the bundle of clothes that’s dangerously close to falling into the pool with us.

We chill out for a while, and when Reaper steps back into me and drops his lips to my neck, I instantly melt into him, more than ready for round two. Only this time, I fully intend to be in control. Just because I might have enjoyed being waterboarded by a waterfall deep inside a cave doesn’t mean that I’m about to let that bullshit fly.

“Fuck, you’re so beautiful,” Reaper murmurs, his lips so soft against my skin.

“Mmmm,” I groan, pressing my ass back against him.

“Remember when you cuffed me to the fridge?” he asks just moments before I hear the soft click of metal filling the wondrous cave. He laughs in my ear and takes my hand, lifting it out of the water, only to find a metal cuff locked around it with the other end attached to the natural cut out of the pool wall.

“What the ever-loving fuck, Reaper?” I demand, pulling against the cuff. “Unlock me.”

All I can do is gawk at him as he climbs out of the pool with water gushing off his perfect body, making my mouth water. He strides across to the bundle of clothes and grabs his pants before pulling them on. He doesn’t bother doing up the button before finding The Executioner’s driver’s license on the ground and scooping it up.

“You won’t be needing this,” he tells me before shoving the ID deep into his pocket and winking at me with a stupid smirk across his delicious lips. He turns to make his way out of the cave, and I curse myself for not taking a better mental map of the course I ran before stumbling upon the pool. “Good luck finding your way home, my sweet Siren.”

“Reaper,” I warn.

He moves to the path that leads out of here before pausing and glancing back at me. “I’ll be waiting for you,” he says.

“Don’t you dare leave me here, you giant dildo.”

Reaper laughs, and with that, he disappears, leaving me with nothing but to figure out how the hell I’m supposed to escape this. I can’t help but laugh. I love this infuriating man, but there’s no doubt about it; Reaper is one hell of an asshole.

SIREN

Waking up to a lonely bed, I pull the sheets back before rubbing at my tired eyes. It was a long night. I was out of the handcuffs within seconds, but the problem came when trying to navigate my way out of the caves. I got lost at least twenty times and had to start leaving markers to know if I was walking a path that had already been walked.

I wasn’t impressed, and just to be a stubborn, petty asshole about it, I stayed out the rest of the day and then made a point of sleeping in one of the spare bedrooms, doing everything in my power to ignore the beast-like man who has thrown my world into the sweetest chaos. The only issue is, I know for a fact that I went to bed in the spare room, yet somehow, I’m waking up in the main bed, and I have no idea how that happened. Some top super killer I am.

Letting out a heavy sigh, I grab my phone and make my way into the bathroom, quickly handling business and getting myself ready for the day. As I shower and change, I chat away to Mila, checking in to let her know I’m still alive and telling her all about the insanity that was yesterday.
