As if on cue, my phone rang, and I stepped away to answer it. By the time I hung up, I found her in bed and pulled her against me. We didn’t finish our conversation, or maybe it was our first fight.

All I knew was that it didn’t matter.

I’d do everything in my power to protect her. It didn’t matter how much it cost me.

She was worth it.

Bailey

The following morning, I hollered, “Aires?” when I didn’t find him anywhere as I walked around the house.

He shouted, “Back here, Bay!” from the far corner of the estate.

I smiled, walking on the light hardwood floors partially covered with foam mats. Making my way around the black punching bags and boxing ring in the center of the massive room, I turned the corner, coming face-to-face with Aires.

A very naked, wet Aires.

Wrapping a thin towel around his waist as he strode out of the shower in the gym, I should’ve looked away, turned my back, and given him some privacy, but there wasn’t a chance in hell that was happening. My mouth dropped open at seeing him standing in front of me.

Something about the steam filling the air behind him was like those body wash commercials where a hot guy steps out in slow motion, whipping his wet hair around and flexing his lickable abs. I shook off the vision and concentrated on my hot guy. His muscles were strained from working out, accentuating the veins in his arms. Showing off his broad, sculpted chest, down to his carved abs, emphasizing his eight-pack, and simply right to the V above his happy trail that was doing all sorts of things to my core.

It didn’t matter how many times I had sex with this man, seeing him standing naked in front of me would forever be its own moment as if he was some sort of Greek god who needed admiring and praise. His arms were defined, toned, and bulky, only adding to his tall, dominant frame.

He was a real-life bad boy.

I. Couldn’t. Breathe.

He followed my intense, captivated stare down to his exposed body before looking back up to my face. Pursing his lips, he tried not to grin while my cheeks flushed, burning against my heated skin. My heart raced, rapidly thudding against my chest, making me weak in the knees and fuzzy in the mind.

With a cocky smirk, he baited, “Like what you see, Bay?”

And I swear I died right then and there. “No!” I squealed in a high-pitched tone I didn’t recognize. Clearing my throat, I shook my head and stood taller. I tried to act unfazed on the outside when, internally, I was flipping out over the effect he always had on me.

“No, huh?”

Even his rough, raspy voice did all sorts of things to me. The somersault in my belly returned, doing the ultimate floor routine and taking me on a ride.

“I’m going to wait—” I abruptly turned, slamming into a bottom cabinet that made me almost topple over and land face-first on the floor, but at the last second, Aires caught me, and I fell face-first into him instead.

“You alright?” he asked, nodding at me.

“Yeah.” I shrugged.

He hid back a smile, biting his bottom lip.

My eyes widened, realizing his dick was starting to get hard against my leg.

“He’s got a mind of his own,” Aires admitted, reading my mind.

“I can’t be in here with you when you’re not wearing any clothes.”

“You can’t control yourself?”

“It’s more like you can’t control yourself.”

“What can I say? He’s never failed me.”

“Oh, I’m sure. What are you up to now? A thousand women?”

“Doesn’t matter. They don’t count.”

“That include me too?”

“No, Bay,” he breathed along my lips. “You’re the only one who’s ever mattered to me.”

I smirked. “Ditto.”

He cocked an eyebrow with a predatory flicker in his gaze like he could smell my arousal.

“What are we going to do about that?”

With a heady glare, I sassed, “What do you want?”

“You in a bright red bow.”

“Is that right?”

“Mm-hmm… you think you can arrange that?”

“I’ll see what I can do. You know, I’ll have to fit you in.”

“Sweetheart, you already have a hard time fitting me in.”

I knew he meant it as a double innuendo.

“Especially…” He grinned. “In that tight little asshole.”

I went to kiss him, but he let me go and stood me upright.

“Hey—” I was about to call him out on it, so I understood all too quickly why he backed away from me.

“No, no, no,” B. Night exclaimed, waving his arms around. “I love to see a romance within a romance. It will make for a better movie. I’m not an idiot.” He pointed back and forth between us. “My job is to find your connection. It’s how we create a legendary film together. You two are fire, and I’d be blind not to see it.”
