“We have a job for you,” he informs me as he leans back in the chair, causing the wood to creak under his weight. He must be at least six-foot tall.
“I have a job,” I tell him, finding my voice, praying they’ll let me go. “And usually when I’m offered a job, I’m not kidnapped first.”
“I heard you’re the perfect one for this particular work though,” he says slowly. There’s something about him, he has a predatory aura which makes me shiver. This man doesn’t do things out of haste, he plans, he’s methodical. There is a reason I’m here. It’s not by chance.
He wants me here.
They want me here.
“I didn’t think you’d come otherwise,” he informs me. “Also, we’re not known in our circles as the most polite.” This has the other man with his jade green eyes chuckling. I’m intrigued by the other one, he’s been silent all this time.
I muster up my courage, and turn my attention to silver eyes, before I ask, “Tell me what this job is then? What is so important you couldn’t find someone else to do it?”
“Before I go into the specifics, I want to see if you’ll obey,” he says, then, he leans forward, his elbows landing on his thighs and his fingers twining together. He gestures with his chin toward the other two before he commands, “Untie her.”
It’s the silent one who moves swiftly. He’s quick with his hands and soon enough, I’m freed from my bindings. But I still can’t move because even if I tried to run, they’d catch me before I made it to the door.
“You can try,” Silver eyes murmurs. Something about his tone tells me he wants me to. He’ll enjoy the chase, and I’ll become a feast for the three of them to devour. I will not give them the satisfaction. “How about you drop to your knees for me?”
I snap my gaze to his, silver meeting gold. Metal against metal, I want to be stronger, I don’t want to flinch at his glare, but I can’t help it. “What?”
This time, he smiles and my inner demon dances once more. He’s breathtaking. I can’t describe him in any other way. Danger emanates off him like a cologne, it’s intoxicating. All three of them are alluring, and the more I think it, the more I inwardly debate if I’m finally losing my mind.
“You heard me,” he says before waving his hand. “Get on your knees.” He straightens his back and reaches behind him. When his hand appears, he’s holding a glinting blade. It looks like it could easily carve my skin from my bones. I don’t have to touch it to know it’s sharp. He meets my stare before saying, “I don’t like waiting.”
I have no choice. I obey the bastard as hatred burns through my veins. The fury I’m currently holding onto will give me the strength I need to kill this fucker the moment I find a way to.
He tuts, shaking his head as if I’ve disappointed him. I’ve done what he asked of me, but he seems to be upset about it. But then he explains, “You show your emotion on your face, Goldilocks.”
The name makes me quirk my head. It seems I’m stuck in a house with the three fucking bears. Only, they won’t allow me to live, it’s the only thing I know for certain.
“Crawl to me.” His order comes swiftly, and when I don’t move quickly enough for his liking, he nudges his head and one of his friends nudges my butt with his shoe.
“Fuck you!” Even as I say it, I know it’s a mistake because fingers tangle in my hair, and the sting of pain from my scalp makes my eyes water.
“Say it again, little girl,” the hiss is from green eyes, the tone of his voice laced with amusement. I can picture him smiling as his lips brush along my earlobe causing me to shiver. “Please, say it again so I can show you what happens to disobedient pets.”
My chest tightens and anxiety twists in my gut, reminding me I’m in danger. This isn’t a game. This isn’t an online chat room where I enjoy clients hurting me with their words.
“Or is that something you like?” His question has goosebumps rising on every inch of my body. He doesn’t let up his hold on my hair. He seems to twist the long strands until I whimper. “Mm,” he moans in my ear, the sound vibrating over my cheek. “That’s the sound I want to hear,” he informs me. “If you’re a good girl, maybe I will hurt you and make you come all over my fingers.”
“Falcon, enough.” The order is swift, and pinched, then suddenly, I’m released from my prison and I fall onto my hands. I’m knelt before Silver eyes like a dog on all fours now. At least I know one of their names—Falcon. “Come to me,” Silver eyes commands as he crooks his finger and I move.
