I ignore him as I move out of the office and down the hall. Fighting everything inside me to go down there and make her crawl once more, I ponder what her first task will be. There are so many things I’d love to watch her do while I make her cry, while she bleeds. She’ll shed crimson to make up for the past.

As I step into the sanctuary of my bedroom, I can’t help smiling.

CHAPTER NINE

LUCILLE

I’m pacing back and forth when the door opens. I’ve needed to relieve myself for hours, but no amount of screaming and shouting got me any attention. I know it’s a new day since the soft yellow glow of sunshine streaming through the small window in my cell woke me.

When I look up, I find Mr. Silent. I know it’s him because of his build, but now he’s not wearing the skull faced make up, I can finally see the man underneath. There’s a rugged handsomeness to him. His jaw is angular, strong, his eyes are focused as they track me. His lips are full, a deep rose color and his nose is sharp, but there is a slight bump to it which tells me he’s been in fights before.

Suddenly, as he takes one step into the room, I realize I know him. I’ve seen him before. “You’ve been following me,” I mutter when I realize it’s the stranger I bumped into the other night when leaving the pub. “Why?” It’s a stupid question. It’s obvious why, they wanted to kidnap me.

He doesn’t answer me, and I don’t expect him to. But he does watch me for a short moment before he turns, leaving the door open. It must be a trick. If I tried to run, he’ll catch me and possibly hurt me, or kill me. I don’t doubt this man was trained for it.

Tentatively, I take steps toward the threshold, and cautiously walk out into a darkened hallway. He’s standing a few feet away, and when he sees I’m following, he turns and walks on further. The deeper into the darkness we go, the more my fight or flight instinct toy with me.

But then he opens another door, and brightness blinds me for a moment. It’s a bathroom. Being under the house, which is why I’m guessing it’s so dark down here, this is rather clean and sterile looking.

“Freshen up,” he grunts, “You have ten minutes.” It’s all he says before he shuts the door, leaving me in the room which looks like it’s been built specifically for clean-up. There aren’t any luxuries, only a shower which can fit one person, along with a basin and a small mirror. Everything is white. The wall and floor tiles, and the bright bulb hanging from the ceiling only illuminates this fact even more.

I quickly move to the toilet and relieve my bladder which feels pleasurable, and I can’t help but sigh. Once I’m done, I wash my hands and splash my face with warm water. Then I rinse my mouth with the small bottle of mouthwash perched on the edge of the basin.

I don’t have a towel to use if I were to shower, so I’ll have to forgo the luxury for now. Hopefully they’ll allow me to shower later. Looking in the mirror, I can’t help but stare at the girl reflecting back at me. I’m not sure how this has happened, but my father has a lot to answer for. He stole so much, and here he is, taking my life without even being in the same fucking country.

Anger surges through me, holding me in its feral grip. I don’t want to die, and I don’t want to be some sex slave for these assholes, but maybe I can figure out a way to get through to one of them. Maybe the one with the green eyes, Falcon. he seemed less threatening, but even as I think it, I recall his words from last night.

Please, say it again so I can show you what happens to disobedient pets.

An ice-cold shiver trickles down my spine, reminding me I’m not at all safe with him. Perhaps the quiet one will be able to see past the anger and vengeance so clear in their demeanors.

The door opens, startling me and blue eyes leans against the frame. Those endless depths seem to bore right through me. “I’m Hawk,” he tells me then in a bored tone. “You met Falcon and Crow last night,” he continues when I don’t respond. “I’m going to take you up to the house now. If you try anything, make no fucking mistake, I’ll end you.”

My whole body trembles in fear. There is no amusement in his eyes. He isn’t lying when he tells me this, and all I can do is swallow. With one rough hand, he grips my arm and drags me down the hall, the opposite way to the bathroom, and I find there’s a hidden door which slides open and before us is a set of steps.
