Trevor looked at himself in the mirror while Reed talked. He looked like hell. His hair stood on end. His complexion was pale and pasty white. His eyes had deep, dark circles under them. A clammy, cold feeling rippled through his stomach and showed on his skin. While standing there, Trevor looked to be paling by the second as he tried to balance himself on one foot. Leaning on his good arm, Trevor bent, quickly turning on the water, running it through his hair and over his face. A towel lay folded on the sink and he managed to dry himself. It did little in making the color of his skin more natural. Trevor continued to lean on the sink to brush his teeth and run a comb over his hair before reaching to open the door. The throbbing in his shoulder and leg began to take its toll on his stomach. He felt queasy as hell, and after everything else, he didn’t want to vomit in front of Reed.
Stepping up, Reed grabbed him, watching him closely. Trevor didn’t make eye contact, but concentrated on making it back to the bed. His muscles were sore as hell. His right leg shook and twitched under the strain. Reed tried to help him back into bed, but Trevor resisted; he wanted to do it on his own. He pushed himself up on the bed, bracing his right arm on the soft mattress. His body was too weak, and his arm gave out, forcing him to fall backward. Reed stayed back, giving him the minute, before breaking down and forcing his help on Trevor.
“Trevor, it’s too early for you to be out of bed, and you’re being too stubborn for no good reason.” Reed stood back after moving Trevor’s legs under the blanket. His brow narrowed, concern filled his face and voice.
“I don’t want to be ungrateful, but you should go back home.” Trevor never looked in Reed’s direction. He just lay back on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. His heart resisted his words, but he pushed through them, getting them out there between them.
“And why is that, handsome?” Reed came closer, anchoring his hip on the side of the mattress.
“I’m out of the woods, but I’m a mess. It’s a long recovery, not something you need to strap yourself with. I appreciate you coming. Rylie made it clear you fought for me and I thank you. But this is too much. I’m not even sure I’ll be employed much longer. I don’t have any skills except being a marksman, and there isn't much need for a one legged sharp shorter in the real world. You should go. I’m not your boyfriend, not really. You barely know me. You should just go, Reed. It was three days; that’s all we had. You need to go home. You should go.” Trevor never took his eyes from the ceiling, knowing if he looked at Reed he would risk his heart winning over and begging Reed to stay.
Reed responded by entwining their fingers together and sitting further on the side of the bed. He pushed the covers back to brush his fingertips along the inside of Trevor’s right calf, going up to his knee under the standard issue hospital gown he wore.
“And it was an excellent three days, wasn’t it?” Reed replied. Trevor stayed quiet and closed his eyes. “So you’re saying you want me to go, so I’m not stuck with you once I figure out how hard this is going to be?” Reed asked, lowering his voice.
“Yes. No. Yes,” Trevor said, his eyes opening as he stuttered around his words, trying to decide what that sentence really meant.
“Well, you’re in luck, then...for now. I’ve been waiting for you to wake. I need to get back home. I’ve got some things to take care of, and there are important deadlines attached.” Reed ran his hand up the inside of Trevor’s thigh. His traitorous cock began to slowly harden with every sweep of Reed's fingers. In fact, the only thing he could concentrate on was the warmth of Reed's fingers inching closer to his now rigid cock. Reed must have sensed Trevor's need to be touched. He slowly pulled Trevor’s hospital gown up. His hard-on grew even harder with each tug of the gown.
“I just would like you to tell me if those days we shared meant anything to you,” Reed said, his voice startling Trevor.
“No, they didn’t. It was just a fling.” Trevor didn’t hesitate to lie, trying but failing to keep eye contact. He tried to lay there looking tough and uncaring. Trevor needed Reed to leave before he completely caved under the heated touch.
“You’re lying, Trevor. I’m an attorney; I’m paid very well to know a lie when I hear one. So let me get this straight, what you’re now trying to say is that everything you said to me in the hotel room was a lie? Is that what you want me to believe? You have casual flings all the time?" Reed's eyes narrowed and a sly smile lit his face. "I don't think so, handsome. I think you’re just trying to play the brave little soldier, always trying to do what's best for others. What you don't seem to understand is that those three days were life changing for me. I meant everything I said to you on the balcony and in that hotel room. I’ll forever remember everything you said to me.” Reed moved the gown up past Trevor's hips and gripped his engorged erection in the palm of his hand. He wrapped his fingers around the swollen length and began to stroke. A hiss escaped Trevor’s lips. He tried hard to ignore the warmth of Reed’s palm against his sensitive skin, but his efforts were useless. Reed's smirk grew as he watched Trevor watch him. Reed continued to stroke while he spoke.
“I remember clearly. You said you wanted me to be the man you were in a relationship with. I agreed. In my book, that means you became my boyfriend. I’ll abide by your wish for me to leave, for now. But know I’ll always consider you to have said you were mine, Trevor.” Lowering his head, Reed swiped his tongue across the broad head of Trevor’s cock. “I washed you while you were sleeping. Rylie told me how clean you were, and how you would hate not bathing every day. I noticed that when I was in your room the night of the bachelor party. While bathing you, I paid special attention to this area." Reed's hand tightened around Trevor's thickness. "God, I so want to taste you again.”
