His hand swats my bum on the way out. I flash him a grin over my shoulder.

Then, I bolt down the stairs to answer the door. I swing it open. “Hey. Sorry. I was upstairs…cleaning…the toilet.”

Cleaning the toilet? Why couldn’t I have said I was cleaning the bath or shower? I guess the saving grace is that I didn’t say I was just cleaning the inside of Kas’s mouth with my tongue.

“Hi, Daisy.” Toby smiles at me.

Returning his smile, I step aside, letting him in. I close the door behind us.

I lead the way to the kitchen where we usually have our appointment.

“Coffee?” I ask.

Toby takes his usual seat at the kitchen table. “Please.”

I set about making coffee, wondering if Kas will want some.

He’ll probably come down. But he might be showering right now.

Wet Kas. Naked, wet Kas.

And, now, my mind is running wild with a naked Kas and all the things we did last night and all the things he did to me.

I can feel my skin start to burn up.

Stop thinking sex thoughts about Kas, or Toby will notice that something is off.

“So, how is everything?” Toby asks me.

“Great!” The word squeaks out, so I go for a quick subject change. “Biscuits?” I ask him.

“You know me”—he chuckles—“can’t say no to a biscuit.”

Yeah, just like I can’t say no to a very hot Greek man upstairs. Not that I’d ever want to say no to Kas. God, the things that man can do with his tongue.

As if conjuring him up, he appears in the kitchen. Barefoot, wearing light-blue jeans and a gray V-neck sweater, his hair damp from the shower. He looks seriously hot.

“Good morning, Kas.” Toby smiles at him.

“Morning.” The deep timbre of his voice ripples through me.

This man was inside me only hours ago.

Jesus.

I grab the biscuits tin and carry it over to the table, trying to avoid all eye contact with Kas. I’m fairly sure that, if I look at him, I’ll give the game away, and Toby will know that we’ve had sex.

“No uniform today?” Toby says as I put the biscuit tin on the table.

“Um, what?” I glance down at my clothes.

Fuckity fucking shit.

I have on the jeans and top I came in last night. I always have my uniform on when Toby sees me.

Oh God.

“Casual Friday,” I blurt out.

Casual Friday? What the hell, Daisy? I’m a maid. Do maids even have casual Fridays?

“Casual Friday?” Toby echoes.

“The staff all put in a little money to wear casual clothes today, and we’re donating the money to charity,” Kas says calmly.

My eyes flick to his. I see the grin in them. I quickly look back at Toby.

“Sounds like a great idea. Which charity?” Toby asks me.

My mouth goes dry.

“RSPCA,” Kas answers for me.

“We’ve never done that in my office. I’m going to suggest it at the next meeting.” Toby smiles, looking suitably happy with himself. He opens the biscuit tin and helps himself to one.

I turn, catching Kas’s eyes, which are still grinning at me but filled with heat, too. So much heat.

Crap.

Looking away, I nervously swallow down.

“Coffee?” I ask Kas as I move across the kitchen, heading back to the coffee machine.

“Sure,” he answers, his voice molten.

I grab three cups from the cupboard.

“So, how is everything with you, Kas?” Toby asks him.

“Good.”

“Business going well?”

“Yep. Daisy?”

I pause what I’m doing and glance back at him over my shoulder.

His face is impassive, but memories of last night are clear in his eyes. My stomach flips.

“Bring my coffee to me in my office.”

If you didn’t know him as well as I do, then you’d miss the suggestive curl of his lip and the sexual intent in his voice. But I do know him, and I know why he’s telling me to come to his office.

Heat surfaces in my face and my lady parts. “Okay.” I swallow.

I don’t watch him leave the kitchen because I’m too busy trying to control my raging hormones.

Somehow keeping composure, I finish making the coffees and carry them over to the table. I put Toby’s cup down in front of him.

“I’ll just take this to Kas.” I lift Kas’s coffee cup in gesture.

Toby lifts his eyes from the papers in front of him, and then he smiles and nods.

Seeing my case notes laid out on the table reminds me why I’m here.

I’m not here because I’m Kas’s girlfriend. Well, I’m not actually his girlfriend.

Look at me, getting ahead of myself. We’ve had one failed date and sex.

But, ultimately, I’m his employee, and I’m here because my probation deems it so.

Excitement dampened, I head to Kas’s office, coffee in hand. Reaching his closed office door, I knock.

I haven’t been in his office since he barred me from here, which was also the first time we ever kissed.

God, that feels like forever ago.

The memory of that kiss tingles through me, lighting me up, and so does the sound of his deep timbre when he tells me to come in. I open the door before shutting it behind me.
