They fell together, laughing as they tumbled to the sand. When they disentangled themselves, Dylan got to his feet and pulled the blankets from the basket. He shook them out, placing one on top of the other.

As Kendra settled on the blankets, Dylan unzipped his jeans and stepped out of them, along with his underwear. His buff, naked body glowed in the starlight, his rising erection belying his recent climax.

He lowered himself to the blanket and pulled Kendra into his arms. Their kiss was long and deep, its passion igniting the embers banked in Kendra’s body into flames of need.

She fell back against the blankets, pulling Dylan over her. She loved the feel of his hard, muscular body draped over hers. “Please,” she whispered breathlessly into his ear. “Please fuck me, Sir. I need you inside me.”

With a growl, Dylan positioned himself between her thighs. As he guided his hard cock inside her, she gasped at the brief spark of pain. As her muscles eased to accept his girth, she moaned with pure, raw pleasure.

He moved inside her in rhythm to the crashing waves, his arms tight around her, his mouth claiming hers. She remained tethered to the earth only by the perfect weight of her lover’s body over hers.

He swiveled his hips in that delicious way he had, his pubic bone positioned just so against her clit as he pummeled her cunt. Shuddering with rising pleasure, Kendra keened into the darkness, wild with passion. When he climaxed inside her, she let go, riding the wave of their shared release to its thundering conclusion.

Dylan lay still atop her as their hearts eventually slowed, their ragged breath easing. When he finally rolled from her, she curled against him, deeply content.

They lay there quietly for a long time, caressed by the cool sea breeze and the lulling sound of the waves. After a while, Dylan sat up and reached for the basket. Kendra assumed he was getting the water, but instead, he held out a small, oblong box.

“What’s that?” she queried.

“Open it and see,” Dylan said, looking adorably nervous.

Kendra sat up and took the box. When she lifted the hinged lid, she saw two necklaces, each with a glittering red stone set in a beautiful gold filigree BDSM triskelion. One of the chains was thicker than the other—a man’s chain, the other more delicate. “Oooh, they’re beautiful,” she breathed, lifting one from the velvet lining. “What’s this red stone? It’s so pretty. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“It’s called a fire opal. Tilt it in the moonlight to see the other colors. There’s yellow and some blue in there, too, just like a real fire. I got them from this really cool BDSM jewelry website, one for each of us.”

“You had this all planned out in advance, huh?” Kendra said with an accusing grin. “The fire play, then the fire opals.”

“Guilty as charged,” Dylan agreed with his trademark lopsided grin. “Caelan’s the one who turned me on to the website. It’s where he got Skylar’s slave collar.”

Kendra admired the design as she turned the glittering gem in the moonlight. “I love it.”

“I’m glad.”

His smile falling away, Dylan added, “You and I are two of a kind, Kendra. We’ve both been through some rough fires in our lives, and we’ve both come out stronger for it.” He took the necklace from her and opened the clasp. “Will you wear this necklace, Kendra, as a token of our shared strength and love?”

In answer, Kendra dipped her head, accepting the chain as he brought it around her neck. The fire opal nestled perfectly between her breasts, covering the worst of the lingering scar.

She reached for the second chain and lifted it from the velvet. “And you, Dylan,” she said, feeling as somber and joyous as if they were performing a wedding ceremony. “Will you wear this beautiful necklace as a token of our shared strength and love?”

“Yes,” Dylan whispered, tears in his eyes. He dipped his head as Kendra knelt up to place the chain around his neck.

They stared at one another for several silent beats. Then, as if they’d planned it, they said in unison, “I love you.”

Then they laughed, their joy filling the night air.
