"I'm working tomorrow too, Donnie."

"I'll let you out for your shift."

He grinned and walked toward her. She took another step up the stairs.

"But then I'm locking you back up again."

She took another step. And another.

"That's real good, sweetheart. You're heading in the right direction."

He wouldn't really lock her up, would he? She stared into his eyes. His beautiful blue, sparkling, determined eyes.

Oh dear. He would.

She turned tail and ran up the steps. He was behind her, lifting her up off her feet and into his arms. He grinned down at her as he carried her to his bedroom. He stripped her clothes off of her methodically and grinned at the outraged expression on her face. Then he slapped the cuff on her wrist and pushed her onto the bed.

Sally stared up at him in awe as he attached the other side of the cuffs to the bed frame. He did it. He actually chained her to the bed!

"You're never going to get away from me now, woman."

He was staring down at her triumphantly. But there was something else in his face. Relief.

She realized he'd been afraid of losing her. Her heart swelled at the earnest look on his face. He was half joking of course. He wasn't really going to keep her locked up. Well, maybe for a little while.

She watched him undress that gorgeous body and smiled at him when he joined her on the bed.

"You can lock me up if you want to, Donnie. I don't want to be anywhere but here."

He moaned and lowered his body to hers. He was already hard. She spread her legs, inviting him to settle between them. He was breathing heavily already, as if he'd run a marathon. Sally arched her back, bringing them into closer contact, making him groan in ecstasy. He held her face and stared into it.

"You're so beautiful, Sally."

She watched him as he made love to her, showing her with his body that what she'd thought last night was true.

Proving it once and for all.

He loved her.

Chapter 32

Kaylie

Kaylie heard him before she saw him. She was out back, helping her mom in the garden when the roar of a motorcycle made her sit up.

Her mom smiled to herself as Kaylie raced inside to wipe the dirt off her face and put on some lip gloss. She brushed out her long ponytail and made a face in the mirror. She came back outside after a few minutes, trying to look casual.

Her mother was nowhere to be found.

But Devlin was there.

And he was kneeling.

She slapped her hand over her mouth. He’d actually listened to her. He was doing it. He was about to ask her to marry him.

It had been a week since they made up. A week since the incident at Sally’s place. Everyone had been shaken up by that, but we’d stuck together and rallied.

Things were just starting to feel normal again.

Still, he hadn’t wasted any time.

He smiled at Kaylie and she melted. Even with the lip gloss, she wasn’t exactly ready for her close up. He didn’t seem to mind though.

Devlin always thought she was beautiful.

She could tell, because of the way he looked at her.

Her eyes started to well up as he took out the box and dramatically opened it. A simple gold band with a small diamond sat inside. It was special without being complicated.

It was perfect.

“Kaylie Thomas… I’m here, on my knees, asking you to wear this ring. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I love you so much…”

Devlin’s voice got rough as the big biker choked up a bit.

“And I know I always will. I’ll love you forever Kaylie.”

Tears were streaming down her face as he talked to her. She could barely speak. But she knew what was coming next.

“Kaylie… will you marry me?”

He stared at her expectantly. Waiting. She inhaled shakily.

And then she nodded.

“Yes, Devlin. Yes, I will marry you.”

He swooped her up into his arms and kissed her, spinning her in a circle.

“You said yes!”

She was crying and laughing as she looked at his handsome face.

“I said yes.”

“When? Can we do it soon? I want to start our live together.”

“Well, can we talk about that later?”

He gave her a suspicious look.

“You said you would marry me.”

“I know. But I’m still only eighteen.”

“You’ll be nineteen next month.”

She smiled at him, trying not to look at the look on his face.

“Yes, and we can talk about it then.”

“Get married after your birthday?”

She shook her head.

“We can talk about how long to wait.”

He groaned and hung his head.

“I want to be alone with you Kaylie. Don’t you want that?”

She kissed his lip and smiled.

“Good things come to those who wait.”

“They do?”

She nodded.

“Does that mean you will come up to the cabin with me this weekend?”

“Maybe.”

He growled and grabbed her when she tried to run away.
