“Oh yeah?” Jo’s lips twitched.

“Yep.” Liv popped the P. “Before I tell you, I need another drink.”

With a smirk on his face, Spec shook his head. “I’ll get it for you, babe.” Then he turned toward Jo. “She might be smashed, but she actually has a really great idea I think you’ll be interested in.”

“I wanna open a shelter,” Liv announced. She seemed to sober before their eyes. “For women who’ve been victims of sex trafficking, escaped abusive marriages, that kind of thing. The club has so much property they aren’t using. It’d be the perfect place. Super safe due to all the big hunky bikers. You mentioned the possibility of getting a degree in social work a few weeks ago, and with your history as a cop, you know how the system works. You’d be the perfect person to help me run it. Brooke can even get involved with her dogs.”

Jo’s mouth opened, then closed a few times. Holy shit, what a fantastic idea.

“Liv…” Speechless, she was completely speechless.

“I know,” Liv said, beaming. “Fantastic idea.”

Spec returned with a drink for his tipsy ol’ lady.

Jo spun in Tracker’s arms. Her face ached from the width of her smile. “What do you think?”

As she gazed up into the amused eyes of the man she loved, Jo knew she didn’t ever need to ask for his opinion. He’d love anything she decided to do. He would support any career she chose, any path she took in life, and any place she wanted to go.

As long as he could stand by her side.

As if she’d want him anywhere else.

JO’S FACE GLOWED with happiness at the opportunity presented to her. Even if he didn’t think it was a fan-fucking-tastic idea, he’d never say so. Seeing Jo so excited was damn sexy. Hell, everything she did, from breathing to smiling to walking around his house in nothing but his T-shirt, got him hard.

But the woman was never more beautiful than when she oozed confidence, and this idea of Liv’s was going to give her confidence in spades.

Gorgeous.

After the stressful month they had worrying over the fallout of Andrew’s death and failing to uncover who the other dirty cop was, they all deserved a good dose of happy.

“I think it sounds perfect.”

“Me too,” she said on an exhale. “Me too.”

“Yay!” Liv clapped. “We’ll get coffee tomorrow and chat about it when I’m not wasted. You guys gonna dance?”

“In a bit.” Tracker winked at Liv, who wagged her eyebrows.

“Got it. Have fun, kids.”

Spec laughed and towed his woman away to dance.

“This week has been amazing. One of the best I’ve ever had.” Jo’s eyes shone with love, a bit of alcohol, and joy. Tracker lost himself in her gaze. They kissed long and slow. As always, his cock grew hard between their bodies. Jo moaned and pressed into him.

Okay, fuck it. They didn’t need to leave. They could hit up the bunk room for a while, then rejoin the party after a few mind-melting orgasms. “Babe…”

Someone slammed into him from behind. “What the fuck?” Tracker stumbled into Jo. He immediately held her close. Though she’d been cleared for full activity, her balance hadn’t returned one hundred percent. Once she was stable, Tracker whirled, ready to smack the shit out of the careless idiot who plowed into them.

“Sorry, man!” Lock stumbled away, drink in hand. “My bad.”

Jo frowned. “He sure doesn’t seem like someone who just got something he’s been fighting for, for months. Do you think he’s okay?”

Tracker sighed. He’d wondered if he was the only one to notice Lock’s abnormal behavior over the past few months. “I’m not sure.”

“He’s been drinking a lot. A lot, a lot,” Jo said. “What if it’s a problem when Caleb gets discharged from the NICU?”

They watched Lock bumble his way through the crowd of dancing couples. He spilled his drink on a man Tracker didn’t recognize. “Shit.” He took a step forward, ready to intervene as the beer-covered guy screamed at Lock.

Jo put a hand on his arm, then indicated toward the ruckus with her chin. “Pulse has it under control.”

Ever since his sister died, Lock had been different. Quieter. More aloof. Quicker to anger. He wouldn’t call it a downward spiral, but he did seem to be slipping down a questionable slope.

Fuck. “We’ll keep an eye on him,” he said as he slung an arm around Jo’s shoulders.

She nodded. “Yeah. And once Caleb is living with him, the girls and I will be over to help him all the time.”

He kissed the side of her head. “You’re incredible.”

“He’s family,” she said with a shrug as though that one word said it all.

With the Handlers, it did. Her family hadn’t exactly accepted him, but her brothers backed off when she threatened to unman them. She’d do it too. Tracker had no doubts about that.
