“You know nothing about me.”

“On the contrary, I know far too much.”

My grin finally starts to spread across my face and I give his cock a light squeeze. I raise up onto my tippy-toes, feeling his fingers tighten on my waist, steadying me. My lips hover by his ear and I nip the bottom of his lobe feeling victory with how he caves under my touch. “I win, Colton. You keep coming at me, over and over again and each time, I’ll keep biting back harder. You can’t go to war against someone who has nothing to lose.”

His eyes come to mine and our lips are a breath away. His arm curls around my back and with a hard tug, he pulls my body in flush against his. “If it’s a war you want, Jade, don’t be fooled, you’ll fucking get one and I can guarantee that you’ll lose.”

My lips brush against his, not as a kiss, but just because we’re that close. “Do your worst, Carrington.”

Without warning, his lips crush against mine and I swallow a gasp, unable to pull myself back. His tongue dives into my mouth and I find myself kissing him back until suddenly he’s gone and my door is slammed behind him.

What in the ever-loving fuck was that?

I’m left standing in my room, my breath coming in hard, sharp pants as my lips swell from his kiss. I fucking hate Colton Carrington but at the same time, I’ve never been so excited. Bringing him down is going to be the best thing I ever do.

Chapter 8

“Holy shit,” Milo howls with laughter, grabbing my arm and pulling me to a stop. He spins me around and points out the parking space beside Colton’s to reveal none other than Jude Carter with two black eyes, a broken nose, and his arm bandaged.

“Oh, no,” I groan. They found him.

“What?” Milo questions. “Who found him?”

My eyes bug out. Crap, I didn’t realize I’d said that out loud. “Uhh ... no one,” I rush out.

As if hearing my voice from all the way across the lot, Jude spins around, his eyes zoning in on mine and getting darker by the second. He starts storming toward me and my heart rate picks up.

“The fuck is his problem?” Milo grunts, gripping my arm tightly and stepping his large body protectively in front of me as though I need his help. I haven’t told him what happened last night, and I doubt I ever will. Maybe I should let him in on one little secret; I’m not some little bitch who can’t handle her own problems. Hell, maybe that’s a little something I need to remind Nic of as well.

To Milo’s horror, I step out from behind him. “Let him come,” I tell Milo as he gawks at me. “I can handle my shit.”

“Do I even want to know what happened to him?”

“Trust me, it’s better if you don’t.”

Jude is only a few car spaces away when Charlie and Spencer rush in and step in front of him. Jude starts swinging punches, but in his state, he doesn’t land a single blow. ‘“Get the fuck off me,” he spits at his friends.

“Back off,” Spencer growls low.

“Let me at the fucking bitch. I’m going to kill her.”

Charlie gives him a hard shove back as the rest of the students loitering around the parking lot begin to gather around, wanting in on the action. “No chance in hell, bro. Colt’s gonna have your ass for this.”

“I don’t give a fuck what he says. Look what she fucking did to me.”

Spencer scoffs. “The cops said it was a random attack, Jude. She’s just a chick and a small one at that. She couldn’t inflict this kind of damage on you even if she tried.”

“I fucking know that,” he roars, “but it doesn’t change the fact that this was her. Let me through.”

I grin, meeting Jude’s eyes over his friends’ shoulders. “Yeah, let him through. Maybe then we can share with everyone what kind of bullshit you tried on me yesterday.” Gasps are heard as Milo’s hand flexes on my arm and it’s clear that I don’t need to explain for them to know what went down. “Oops,” I say, my eyes going wide and my hand flying to cover my mouth. “I think I’ve said too much.”

Jude starts thrashing against his friends’ hold. “I’m going to end you.”

I suck in a sharp hiss through my teeth. “Oh, big mistake right there. Rule one of committing a crime, you never say that shit in front of witnesses. Witnesses equals jail time. It makes you look guilty, but then, what does it matter, right? You are guilty.”

Charlie’s head whips around and he gives me a flirtatious smile as he struggles against Jude. “Hey, girl,” he says with a sexy wink, reminding me just how startling his blue eyes are. “Looking good. How are you doing?”
