Once inside the car, she exhaled. It was over, at least for today.
Galen turned to her, only the glow from the dashboard highlighting his masculine features.
“I’ve lived in a lot of places. I can’t even count. But I’ve never had a home.”
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“A home isn’t just four walls. It’s where you belong, where good memories are born, and where people who love you are.” He caressed her face with the backs of his fingers. “I never had that. I’ve always been an outsider looking inside.”
She felt tears prick at her eyes because she loved Galen so much.
“We’ll make a home, just the two of us.”
“Maybe more than just us.” He winked.
Her heart fluttered. All her dreams were coming true before her eyes. She’d always wanted to become a mother but never thought it would happen. Together, they could create a family, make their own happiness.
“How about we get home, take a long shower, and then start making babies?”
He laughed, turning back to the steering wheel. “I like the way you think.”
