I checked myself over in the mirror, fluffed up my hair, and then put on a layer of lip gloss. The tiki bar sounded like the best option to start my day off. I had several days left in Hawaii, and this was the first full day that I was going to experience the island for myself. So, I decided to take it as a me day and simply relax.

Out on the edge of the patio and pavilion, I found the pool and the tiki bar already filling up with guests. I scanned over the many faces to find my mom and Danforth nestled together at the tiki bar as they fed one another pineapple slices. I guess that’s what you’d call breakfast in Hawaii.

“Hey, sis!” Damien came up from behind and jabbed me in the side. I nearly jumped out of my skin.

“Oh, my gosh!” I smacked him on the arm and all he did was laugh. “Don’t do that to me!”

“Lighten up, I was just playing around.”

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes, turning away from Damien and directly into Dax. “Hey, gorgeous.” His eyes traveled down my body and then back up again, meeting my gaze with a smile. “You look good in purple.”

Of course I looked good in purple, and I didn’t need him to tell me that. I also didn’t need either of them gawking over my body in the two-piece suit I chose to bring along. When I had originally packed, I thought I’d be hanging out with brothers, not these two handsome men that I would gladly take to bed. What was wrong with me? I could barely stand in their presence without thinking those thoughts. They were incredibly hot, and they made me feel sexy every time they looked at me that way. But the more I felt that way, the more annoyed I got by them. We were a family now, and we couldn’t go around acting this way.

“We were gonna hit the waves,” Damien said. “Feel like joining us?”

“Surfing?” I laughed at his idea. “I don’t think so.”

“Not too good at balancing?” Dax asked as he took his shirt off and shoved it into his bag. Did he really have to have a glistening six-pack that early in the morning?

I looked the other way. “I am actually very good at balancing; I was in gymnastics as a child. I’m just in the mood to sit on the side of the beach and relax today.”

“Hey, that’s alright,” Damien said as he also tore his shirt off. It was almost like he was in a movie, where he had to strip down to somehow save the world. “You can watch us from the shore. But be careful,” he said as he got close to me. “We might just get you wet.”

Wet? They didn’t need to try, I already was. And I was pretty sure all of my hairs were standing on edge then. Just looking at their bodies and how close they were, the fact that I could reach out and feel those chiseled muscles at my fingertips, it made every part of my body crave to be touched.

I straightened my gaze out to the tiki bar and cleared my throat. “Hey, look, it’s our parents.” I pushed through the guys and headed off to the bar, looking back over my shoulder once to see that Dax and Damien were headed to the water. It was a relief to see them walk away, but there I was again watching their bodies straight across the sand like I had never seen a grown man in my life.

“Sweetheart.” My mom turned and faced me as Danforth gave her neck one more kiss. It was a little gross to watch, but she looked incredibly happy. I couldn’t help but draw a smile. “What are your plans for the day?”

“Honestly, I’m glad to say that I have no plans at all. I’m going to get a drink, sit in the sun, and maybe dip into the pool for a moment.”

Danforth leaned on to the bar and took a long sip from his bright blue drink. “Well, now that sounds like the perfect vacation to me. From what I hear, you definitely deserve a solid day to yourself.”

“Thank you. And I also want to thank you for inviting me on this trip to begin with. It truly is incredible being here and living the life of luxury.”

“That a girl,” he said as he lifted his drink to cheer me on. “Oh, bartender!” Danforth raised his hand to get the man’s attention. “This lovely lady here needs something to drink.”

After I got my fruity pink drink, I headed over to the lounge chairs next to the pool. The beach was only a few minutes away down a small slope in front of me. I wasn’t that eager to go out and watch the guys surf because that would only mean I’d sit there and gawk at them like I shouldn’t be doing. Instead, I was happy to sit by the pool and relax, possibly getting into the water at some point. Of course, where there was my new brothers, it seemed as though I was never truly alone.
