I shake my head and sigh when he finally steps back, and his cock slips out of me. He walks back into the bathroom, and I hear the water running. I turn on my back and see that we’ve left puddles of water all over my floor when I pulled him to the bed. He comes back out with a white rag and looks at me. “Let me clean you,” he says, and I close my knees and sit up.

“I can clean myself,” I tell him, and he laughs, handing me the rag. I walk back into the bathroom to, then grab a towel to mop up the water in the bathroom. I’m surprised when he’s already cleaning up the water in the bedroom, and he’s wearing his boxers.

“Thank you,” I tell him, and he comes over to me and kisses me on my lips.

“You have a rash all over your face,” he says, and I have no doubt I have little red marks from his face. “I’ll shave.”

“No,” I tell him and then look down at his boxers. “Are you leaving?”

“Yes,” he says, and my heart sinks just a little. “We both are, so pack a bag.”

I cross my arms over my chest. “Excuse me?”

“I have to go to my place, and you can’t come naked, and you aren’t coming home, so pack a bag,” he says as if he just didn’t order me to do something.

“Did you just order me to pack a bag?” I ask him, and he grabs his pants.

“I can pack one for you if you want,” he tells me, sitting down and putting on his pants. “Just get dressed and I’ll throw something in a bag.”

“Did it ever occur to you to ask me to come?” I tilt my head and go into the closet and put on a bra and panties set. “What if I’m busy, or I have work to do?”

“Then you bring it with you,” he says, grabbing his shirt off the floor and buttoning only the top half of it. “Either way it ends with you coming with me.”

“Again,” I say, “did it occur to you to ask me?”

“It did,” he says, smiling, and then I look at him confused. “Right before”—he points at the bed—“I said are you sure about this.”

“That was during sex,” I say, throwing up my hands. “How does it mean you tell me I’m coming to your house?”

“Do you think that the first night we finally sleep together I would go home without you?” he asks, shaking his head. “Now do you want me to pack, or do you want to do it?”

“I can’t believe I’m actually entertaining this,” I say, turning to go in the closet and grabbing the bag. I mean, who am I kidding? I would have gone anyway, but he could have asked.

I feel him behind me, and his hand comes up to cup my breast. “I really like this bra,” he says softly. “And I’m happy you’re coming home with me.” His head comes down, and he kisses my neck softly. “Don’t forget to pack stuff for tomorrow and Sunday.”

“How long am I coming over?” I ask him, turning my head and kissing his lips.

“We’ll see. Worst case, we can come back here on Monday.” I kiss him. “I’ll go order a car,” he says, walking out, and I do what I’m told. I pack a bag with clothes until Tuesday. I grab my laptop and planner, and I walk downstairs. “He should be here in five minutes,” he says from the doorway. We walk out of my house and into the car, holding hands and then do the same thing once we get to his house. He orders food while he makes space for my stuff in his closet.

We eat at the table and clean up together, and when I slide into bed wearing one of his T-shirts, I have to say today’s been one of my favorite days ever. He slides into bed next to me, wearing boxers, and grabs me, pulling me to him. We start kissing, and just like that, we are both naked again. I straddle him again, and this time, I lean in and kiss his tattoo.

“When did you get this?” I ask him, and he looks down.

“Two days after I took control of everything,” he says, looking down at it. “I repeat those words every single day at least once. Figured seeing it would help the journey.”

I look down and trace the letters with my finger. He grabs my face with his hands, and we make love. Slowly, slower than before, and we do it while kissing the whole time. When I fall asleep in his arms, it’s the most peaceful sleep I’ve ever had.

I wake up to the empty bed in the morning, and when I reach out my hand and feel the bed, it’s still warm. A little light comes in from the shades. I stretch and then grab his T-shirt that got tossed during our last round of sex. I walk into the hallway and see him there at the island sitting on a stool drinking his coffee. “Morning,” I say, going to him and kissing him on his shoulder.
