The guys were all yelling and cheering on the field, and I laughed when Axel and Joey dumped the jug of water over Julian’s head, but he only shook his hair out, a grin on his face.

I moved onto the field, and Vincent rushed over to me as soon as he noticed me. He wrapped his arms around me and spun me around in a circle, as was our normal tradition after a big win. He lifted me onto his shoulders. “She’s our real fucking reason for winning!” he shouted, drawing most of the guys’ eyes to us.

The guys crowded us, and I blushed under the praises. Suddenly, I was pulled backward, and I shrieked in alarm. Julian placed me onto my feet and spun me around to face him.

“My personal little good luck charm.” He grinned.

Then, he wrapped an arm around me and gripped my ass in his hand before leaning me backward and kissing me. I moaned softly as I twined my arms around his neck, eagerly kissing him back. He tangled his other hand in my hair as the guys whistled and cheered around us. Another jug of water got dumped over us, but I didn’t care.

I was getting Julian’s celebratory kiss, and that was honestly one the best feelings in the entire damn world.

I was walking towards the door of my room to go get something to drink from downstairs when my bedroom door opened in front of me, almost hitting me in the face. I jerked my head up from my phone, my face paling.

I opened my mouth to scream, but he quickly yanked me forward and slammed his hand over my mouth, kicking my bedroom door shut behind him, reaching back to lock it afterward. I fought against him, desperate to get the fuck out of this room and away from him.

“Stop fucking fighting me,” he snarled down at me, his beady, dark eyes glaring down at me. I gagged at the smell of his breath.

I bit his hand and tasted his blood as it welled in my mouth. Yanking his hand back, he cursed, rage twisting his features. I spit his blood out and tried moving back, but he was faster than me. I opened my mouth to scream, knowing no one would probably hear me but needing to try anyway. But his fist slammed across my face, sending me sprawling to the floor as a cry of pain left my lips.

My heart was pounding hard in my chest. I was the only one here. I had assured Julian, Vincent, and Desiree that I would be fine by myself, that I didn’t need anyone to stay behind with me. I thought I would have been safe here.

I had been so, so fucking wrong.

I kicked out at him as I scrambled to my hands and knees. He slammed his boot into my stomach, sending me sprawling across the floor as I gagged. He knelt over me, and I was in too much pain to fight against him. Every breath felt like a knife stabbing into my lungs and ribs.

“I told you that you were mine,” he snarled into my face. I flinched. “You thought I wouldn’t know that you were getting your brains fucked out by that goddamn boy?” He wrapped his hands around my throat and slammed my head onto the hardwood floor beneath me. I moaned in pain, black spots dancing in my vision. “I know everything.”

He did it again, and I felt something warm trickle down my neck. I blinked furiously, desperately trying to stay awake.

“That’s alright, though, sweetheart,” he murmured, his lips trailing over my jaw. I weakly beat at his arms as my vision clouded over, blackness tinging the edges. “I’ll make sure he never wants to touch you again.”

Everything went dark.

I stepped into the frat house with me and Vincent dragging a half-conscious, drunk Joey into the house with us. Desiree was laughing and recording the entire thing as he drunkenly sang a song from Mulan. I snickered.

He was so going to regret this in the morning when I blasted it all over social media.

“It’s quiet,” Vincent said suddenly.

I shrugged. “Bro, she’s probably sleeping,” I told him, rolling my eyes. He worried about Meghan too much. “She’s safe here, remember?”

Vincent shook his head. “Something’s wrong, Julian.”

He dropped Joey without a second thought, and Joey hit the floor with a whine. Vincent dashed up the stairs, but I rolled my eyes. She was going to be so pissed when he woke her up.

“Fuck!” he roared, the pain and rage in his voice chilling me. “No, no, no, Meghan, fuck, no.”

I rushed up the stairs and burst into her room. He was snatching a sheet off of the bed with tears running down his face, his cell phone to his ear. “Yes, I need an ambulance,” he said into the phone.
