He's here. He's back.

Warning bells go off in my mind, telling me to get the fuck up and move away from the danger, but I can’t. My limbs won’t move. I'm frozen, a deer in headlights, while Drew stalks closer, shutting the door behind him. "I've been looking for you."

Deep breath. I need to get my galloping heart rate under control. I swallow the bite of cereal I forgot I'd taken and clear my throat. "Well, you didn't check the place I live until now, so I guess you weren’t looking that hard."

What I really want to say is, go away and don't come back. My body continues to betray me as the sensations from last night return with the rush of looking at him. Dammit. He shouldn't be able to affect me like this. I hate him.

He skirts the table and slides the chair opposite me out from underneath. I gulp and point at the door with my spoon. "Do you make it a habit of showing up at every girl's house you terrorize, or is this just for me? I didn't invite you inside, so you can leave the way you came.”

There's a smirk on his face as he slowly, deliberately takes the seat across from me, his green eyes studying me. I feel like a bug about to be stomped into the ground. His eyes move to the bowl of cereal in front of me, and like the thief he is, he snatches my bowl from my grasp and starts spooning cereal into his mouth.

Okay, fucker. That’s taking things too far. I give him my best glare. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you live to annoy me? Don’t tell me this is some kind of asshole frat boy revenge scheme because I stuck up for that guy?"

He raises an eyebrow and swallows the cereal—my cereal. "Frat boy revenge scheme? First, I'm not a frat boy. Second, I don't do revenge. I like to think I'm more methodical than vengeful. Instead, I just get even."

Fuck.

My mind wanders, and all I know is that I need to get out of here. Away from him and his stupid scent. Something like soap and that damn teakwood wafts off him, and it's just pissing me off now. Something that evil should not smell that good.

"How about we call it even after last night's events, and you leave me alone?"

He continues to shovel food in his mouth, then pauses. "No, I don't think I will. There's something about you, something that draws me in, and until it lets go, I'm afraid you're stuck with me."

"What about what I want?"

He shrugs one broad shoulder, his white T-shirt stretching across his chest. Not that I notice. "I don't give a shit about what you want. You're the one who got in my way first, remember? If anything, this is all your fault."

It’s not surprising that he continues to put this all on me. "No good deed goes unpunished, right?"

He snorts. "Something like that.”

Once he finishes my cereal, he leans down and plops a canvas tote onto the table. I eye it like he's smacked a bomb in front of me. What the hell is in that bag? Do I even want to know? No. No, I don’t. I shove away from the table and stand.

"Um...I have to get to the library, er...back to work."

His eyes narrow, and he too pushes away from the table, choosing to stand. Then his gaze drifts to my open bedroom door. First, he chases me through the woods, claiming my virginity, and now he enters my dorm uninvited.

“Remember how you said we don’t know each other? I was just thinking, what better way to get to know one another than to spend time together?” He darts off in the direction of my bedroom, as I anticipated.

"Oh no, you don’t." I chase him, and damn him and his long legs. "What the hell are you doing? This is my room. Do you not have manners? I didn't even invite you into the dorm, let alone my bedroom. Most would take the hint by now, but that’s me telling you to leave.”

He appears relaxed, uncaring to what I’ve just said. Meanwhile, I’m burning with rage as he pokes around my bookshelves, pulling a few off the shelf to inspect them. Flipping through the pages, he turns to look at me, his features smoldering.

“Romance? Hmm. I like it. Does she ever fall for the villain or only the good guy?”

“Trying to create your own happily ever after? If so, it's not going to happen. You’re far worse than any villain in those books.” I growl and grab the book from his hands, gently placing it back on the shelf. I will become murderous if he dents the edges of any of these books.
